Looking forward to this collaboration. Opening thoughts on German rationalism: I remember the (literal) Faustean pact required a blood contract nodding at Goethe's comand of Civics & Lex Mercatorean Supremacy via plume, THAT long ago.

Strauss notes that Machiavelli dividing The Prince into 26 chapters is a luminous fact for 26 is the numerical value of the Hebrew name of God..

check out “liberation through self knowledge” AKA corporeal fantasy, if you need a Kant or Spinoza lecturer!

What Millerman describes is exactly esoteric writing, no matter how it is labeled.

Basically, how do you dissuade those young men who are most susceptible to sympathizing with and being tempted by Nazism from becoming Nazis.

Great video! Also, Millerman looks younger. It’d be great content and very enlightening to witness you two philosophically groyp KantBot.

I came in expecting to get a more nuanced take on Strauss. I left with the impression that conservatives are regurgitating the bad-faith critiques of their arguments and saying "but actually it's good". For a less reactionary virtue ethics, I'll look to Macintyre.

I don't care for Murphy, but he is right that people most commonly blab on the idea that Strauss is an "esoteric" sinister guy. Then they want to know where Aleistor Crowley has transformed himself into a dagger and is readily hidden in the machiavellian fold between Strauss' own lines in his writings.

hi esse delendam.. can u explain what is ur problem with Justin?

@@mostlydead3261 His attitude towards thinking is ruinously superficial or journalistic. Also, less importantly, he may be dishonest. For instance, he gave an hour plus interview on Sloterdijk without mentioning the source of the material he was laying out.

The three reasons a philosopher writes between the lines made me wet.
