This is one of the most bad ass set of riffs ever. It’s not just one fat riff , there’s a couple in here. I’m not a massive Slayer fan but they have some absolute masterpieces

That’s why Jeff and Kerry were known as the riff masters. They were consistent with those sick riffs. It was an honor having them be the first band I ever saw live back in 2007, when they still had Jeff and Dave. Hell, I originally went to see Marilyn Manson but Slayer stole the show for me.

This was quite a "high" tuning when it comes to downtuning. But generally, it helps to use very thick strings.

Probably not for this song or at least not the ending. I know he played with fingers on Raining Blood but this one is a bit too fast too play with fingers while singing.
