Thanks for giving a thorough review without spoiling things. I feel like this was just the right balance between “this is why you’d want to play” and “this is everything that’s in the game.”

There are definitely some things I didn't talk about on both gameplay and story fronts, yeah. ^_^

When I first saw this game I told myself I’m definitely playing it in the future, and it was actually your video from a few months ago

That's pretty fun to think about, thank you. I was quite interested to play more of it myself back then too. >_>

It is pretty cool. Since you have a PS5 I'd probably play it on that when you get the chance, if you're interested.

I had the game in my Steam Wishlist since your other video and it was great to hear you talk more in depth in this one.

Thanks, it's one I was looking forward to for a long time.

I appreciate how you talk about the writing style here. Lately I've become exasperated with Hollywood sci fi because we now live in a corporate science fiction society with many technologies that are *more* advanced than those established in media, so the extrapolations in our stories need to become more elaborate and the corruption of their antagonists deeper to serve the same function it used to. I'm noticing a lot of Defenders-style handheld work where the action leaves the frame for seconds at a time as the "cameraman" catches up. It's hard to tell from your edit, but is this game presented in a single-segment take like Dead Space 2?

Mm, it felt like it was trying for that, maybe not to the same degree. The game does cut between different camera angles from time to time but it does seem to love sticking with the character and just panning to things of note during cutscenes whenever possible. It tries to keep you in the character's POV as much as possible, even updates for your suit and such are something you see happen as you can still look around with the right stick for example.

@@LeoKRogue In film we call that perspective. Transitioning to perspective by using handheld is a very flashy trick that would definitely show this game's flair for avant-garde framing

Nice video! I wish that when speaking about things like dialog and soundtrack we could get a sample, rather than an explanation of how it sounds. Otherwise, ill look forward to the next review

I hear you. Would it help if I said the whole thing is set on Earth? Just somewhere very remote like Alaska, by the looks of the ice and snow outside.
