Why was the movie so great? Well, for one they hired the awesome PAUL FREES to do the voice of the talking rings for one. He was the voice actor who is also narrating the trailer for this movie. A true one of a kind. And with the incredibly gorgeous Yvette Mimieux as sweet innocent Weena you can't lose! ;-)

Lasting Hollywood magic. When I first saw this movie I was 15 years old. Later it was finally released on BetaMax tape and now I can stream it in 4K. I still feel that if I could only sit in it and turn it on I can escape to the future.

Film trivia: the parlor and stairway seen in George's home is the same parlor and stairway that was seen in the film "Meet Me in St. Louis". It was taken out of storage and reassembled for "The Time Machine".

The BEST time travel movie of all time. It had warmth, charm a great story, an excellent cast and, of course, the time machine itself. When I saw it the first time in 1960, I said to myself that it was a great movie and have enjoyed watching it ever since. I even have a working model complete with the Tantalus box. A prized possession.

WOW! Carl, your replica of the Time Machine still astonishes my senses when I see it! Even after having the opportunity to sit in the 'old' chair a few years ago, when my wife and I came to your wonderful home on your personal invitation, I have always dreamed of owning my own full scale replica, but, unfortunately, I do not possess the remarkable talent or knowledge to build one (except in miniature, model form) ! But, thank God, and Thanks to you, one of my cherished dreams came true the moment I stepped into your iconic machine!!!

Well Bruce, the old machine is back in my home again. It has been upgraded with new lighting and sound effects. I don't intend to move it to other locations for display anymore due to the toll it takes when disassembling and assembling again. I have shifted to building models myself during this COVID era. But of course, if you are ever in my area, stop by for a sit in the chair.

i personally believe that the past, present and future simultaneously exist. i have no proof of this but my theory is that if we can be in the present and think of the past and future, then wouldn't it be possible to also be in the past and the future and think about the past and future as well. i also once asked an employer of mine who had a degree in engineering and physics if he thought that time travel was possible. he then said that the ability to travel through time is there and all we have to do is find out how to go about it. i salute you on your construction of your replica! that is so cool. before my time ( no pun intended) on this planet is expired, i too hope to construct my own George pal time machine as well. thanks for sharing.

Incredibly impressive. When I first saw the movie in theaters I was only 8 years old. That was 60 years ago. It was burned in my memory and I so badly wanted a time machine. I got married young, was going to school, had kids and a wife who weren't interested in this at all, so I never had the chance of building one. Watching this great video has given me ideas to do it and hope to do so. Congratulations on your excellent ingenuity and drive.

Every time I hear the name of the Movie The Time Machine (1960) immediately what comes to my mind is the face of the Actress Yvette Mimieux, who can forget her roll in The Time Machine (1960) "Weena" she had the sweetest face and voice I've ever heard, unfortunately she passed away last January in her sleep, among other things I don't know if you know that she was the very first Female ever to appear on Bikini on a Magazine, she was a Beauty that Won many Beauty Contests at the time and it was almost picked up to be in a film with Elvis Presley but unlucky among other four Actresses she was the first run it up, she almost made it, born in California of French Father and Mexican Mother, sadly she died in her sleep at the age 80 y/o. She was the highest underrated Actress ever in Hollywood given her bad Movies but her only presence to me in others like me made them interesting to say at least, you'll be missed forever, rest in peace (Weena) always Beautiful Yvette Mimieux

Wonderful. I love your machine. I loved the film since 1960. I’m 67 now. I bought the soundtrack years ago. I found an interesting scene in the film…a “dead” Morlock moves his foot during the fight scene, so no one steps on him. You have to look closely. The stairs were used in several films including Burgess Merideth in a Twilight Zone and. It’s also interesting, as his character says he has “all the time in the world”, just like in The aTime Machine film.

I am thinking about doing a spoof of time travel movies, and I would want to acquire various replica time machines. I know that there are replicas for the one from "The Time Machine" as well as "Back To The Future" DeLoreans. The good thing about the one from "The Time Machine" is that you don't need a driver's license to run it.

My idea for another "remake" is to use the original machine, sound and time-lapse photography (no CGI). George and Weena's "son" comes back to 1899, etc. It would be true to the original.

Because of this film, The Time Machine...... I have had a fascination with time. I own 300 wind up clocks, there are a dozen Grandfather clocks in the collection. My oldest clock is close to 200 years old with wooden gears, one of the first to be mass produced in this country. I know that Mr. Coleman does not agree, but one year as I was watching the Time Machine on Family Classics....the film went farther in the future, where in the end he supposed to have seen Atlantis, thus that song on he soundtrack.I remember seeing a large sun behind the time machine with a silhouette of George sitting in it. And seeing the mountain give away once more for a brighter future. I am so positive of this, cause I remember saying how cool that George went farther to the future. Something I had never seen before. I have a complete Machine shop, with every welder you can have. Mill's lathes etc. I think it's time for me to build a full size machine too. The last gentleman you talked to, was that a full sized Tobor in the back ground? That would be a great item to build also!! Thanks for your work creating this fine show.

Hi Jim, I've never heard or have seen that "extended" version of "The Time Machine" that you mention. I do have a copy of the original script, and that sequence is not mentioned. Is it possible that you watched a George Pal lineup on Family Classics that included a viewing of Pal's "Lost City of Atlantis" right after "The Time Machine" and your mind melded the two? I would love to see a sequence as you have mentioned, but never have. The Robot seen behind Greg Cochoran in the interview segment is a replica of "Robby the Robot" in Don Coleman's workshop. Let me know if you start building your time machine. Thanks for the kind comments. Carl

I concur with LAT ( Hi, Carl!) ! I also have a copy of the 1960 script to George Pal's version of "The Time Machine," and I have never read anywhere about the sequences you describe! I have several copies of the original movie on DVD, BluRay and USB. I also own the special boxed edition of the film, complete with reproductions of some of the lobby cards and a section of actual film strip. The special edition has no added footage that you are decribing as having seen. Perhaps you are confusing a combination of various versions. There was a televised version starring

The design of the machine is very easy and you can go to any time period you want, but it does not go beyond 2090, I thought there was a problem with the device, but it is okay to go back in time.

Why Not a Major Motion Picture with her as a major player to reminisce and show what has happened sine George returned and what the Eloi Society has become ..her children and grandchildren . She would obviously be highly intelegent and a matriarch. Please , somebody out there , utilize the Iconic Time Machine and bring it back to Cinematic Life .
