Cizma77 Shigechi helped his friends? How? Shigechi didn't know about Kira beforehand nor about what he was doing. He only learned after Kira told him almost everything he does, and even then, Shigechi only wanted to protect his mother and father. He was going to Josuke to ask for help, not HELP Josuke. Did he inform him though? Yes, he did. But I doubt that Shigechi would have had any additional relevance to the plot if he survived. By no means do I want to say Shigechi should die, but he isn't the same case as Kakyoin. Kakyoin was literally dying with a plate-sized hole through his chest, blood gushing with his body stuck onto a metal surface. Yet, instead of thinking of his parents, Kakyoin's mind went to figuring out Dio's stand's secret and spent the last of his seconds giving Joseph a clue on what it is. I liked Shigechi during harvest mini-arc (is that what you call it?) when they attempted to get rich off of thrown away coupons.. but he really is sort of pointless other than comic relief. I liked Shigechi in the Harvest arc, but other than that, I don't like the character. I've seen characters alike to Shigechi in anime before, but some work and some don't. I don't think Shigechi really fit in with the crew. I'd say that he is as relevant as Hazamada.

I agree completely, especially with him being a comic relief afterwards. I don't really like him either, but no matter what his cause was, protecting his parents or wanting to protect Morioh, you gotta agree that if Shigechi didn't deliver the button to Josuke and Okuyasu then many more people would die before the gang finally caught track of Kira.

Cizma77 I agree with you completely, Shigechi prevented the death of many waifus and husbandos with his inevitable death... Though, Shigechi couldn't have done what Kakyoin would have. Shigechi delivered the button to the crew with Harvest because of selfish reasons (speaking of which, Harvest being able to move when Shigechi got wiped off the face of the fucking planet made no sense.) Kakyoin = Influential Hero Shigechi = Coincidential Helper The result sadly doesn't change even if Shigechi legitimately wanted to save his parents (despite stating in an earlier episode that his mother was kind of harsh towards him, thus leading me to think he actually disliked them back), he isn't a hero. Koichi was, for protecting Jotaro until he mustered the strength to get back up and beat the platinum shit out of David Bowie with Star Plotinum. Jotaro, too, was sort of a hero for stopping Kira from turning Koichi into a living bomb and being literal ISIS. Josuke was a hero for healing both Koichi and Jotaro and saving from eventual death upon his arrival-- but all Shigechi did was deliver a button (which, if Josuke and Okuyasu hadn't paid attention, would have been pointless despite all of Shigechi's effort to deliver it.)

You're completely right, your arguments are really on point. And besides, the power to completely stop time is way more dangerous than an ability to erase all trace of anything, and figuring out The World's power took some major smarts and thought from Kakyoin. It is way more important figuring out how to counter a timestop than an erasure of matter, since horrific things can happen when time is stopped. Also I always considered Kakyoin more heroic and smart than Shigechi because he managed to deduce that by punching a hole through his body while completely breaking the entire Hierophant barrier all under a span of a moment, Dio had motherfucking stopped time itself. But I think Shigechi's death is more horrible to look at, as he simply vanished from existence never to be heard, seen or felt ever again.

This is awesome and very catchy for Kakyoin but his theme on the jojo arcade is still the best Kakyoin theme for me in my opinion, because it sums up Kakyoin as a JoJo character in the entire stardust crusaders and not to mention he's the closest jobro to the main JoJo, like Konohamaru to Naruto, Sado to Ichigo, Ussop to Luffy, Kuwabara to Yusuke and like Yamucha to Goku
