Watching this made me realize just how superior the writing was back in the early seasons compared to the later ones.

Yes still a good show but novels are novels and imagination has no limits unlike action that can be put on film. I think they did well. Personally the biggest flaw with whatever movie or TV series is to compare it to the books or written source. It is important to enjoy the show as a show and book as a book. You get twice as much joy most of the time.

The Rains of Castamere (aka the red wedding ).has to be the greatest dramatic and shocking piece of television in history..it truly truly was shocking on a level I wasn't expecting. It was the greatest episode of GOT period.
@The.Nasty.3 жыл бұрын
The Rains of Castamere is a song title, the song is about young Tywin Lannister trapping a bunch of nobles who wronged his family underground during a heavy rain storm and allowing the caves to flood and kill them all… It was played at the Red Wedding as the final song, to let the Starks know who was responsible for their demise, right before the Frey’s turn on them. Kind of vengeful goodnight kiss… pretty poetic but brutal.
@dennismenace26706 жыл бұрын
Man, the Red Wedding is perhaps the hardest thing to watch on TV knowing how connected you got with everyone. Talisa pregnant and naming their son Ned, Rob being butchered when he was so Honorable, the Stark army being wiped out like cattle, and Catelyn pleading for her sons life and giving up when he is stabbed and seeing Arya there to witness what is happening and how helpless she is to stop any of it. Then seeing the wolfs head on Rob's body. This shit was rough. People really did love these characters and seeing them butchered just hurts even when some knew it was coming, you just can't prepare yourself. This shit is brutal. They legit showed a pregnant woman stabbed to death on TV and that just fucked everyone up.

@BullRadu5 жыл бұрын
@Zach Kabia how is the red wedding more sad? you aren't very smart and can't think things through right? let me explain you why rob died ad the red wedding. rob died because he wasn't true to his word and he did nothing while his family helped escape the biggest enemy the north had at that time. i was happy the red wedding happened although i like house stark. i like those in house stark that can actually think, not mindless morons like ned, rob and caitlin. rob did to himself while hodor had no choice whatsoever.
@mhlib75695 жыл бұрын
@Zach Kabia lol shut up it's all perspective. Besides, Robb broke his vow and expected not to pay for that? The only time I cracked a tear was with Hodor's death. That was brutal. Not only did he die a horrible death holding that door, but he was made simple his whole life merely so he could save Bran there. That's next level sad! Even with the burning of Shireen, I was more disgusted and angry, than sad.
@mm.1246 жыл бұрын
Then, imagine living in those times and having to see that often.
@YoutubeIsRetarded6896 жыл бұрын
You do realize that Hodor was connected to the same force as Bran, essentially seeing as he does, but he's not the one destined to handle it, so he blows his brains out seeing the future, past everything in between. He loses everything in his mind but his one true purpose "Hold the door." saying it to himself daily, every minute, every time he's nervous or afraid. Reminding himself so he never forgets his destiny.
@PigreKo6 жыл бұрын
@@KZbinIsRetarded689 While it was a cool reveal, it was also the inception of the close time loop. A reality where choices do not matter, because everything is already set in stone. Closed loops are the worst, especially when the characters inside realize it; once you realize destiny is a thing, reality does not look that interesting, and to take a choice not that meaningful. In this specific case, Hodor was destined to die holding the door, but it also means he was an immortal being up until that moment. HE could not die nor could he NOT be there to die. Of course the writer is the defacto god of his book, so of course, events are already set, but to acknowledge that as an integral part of the narrative it is a sign of a drop in quality.
@YoutubeIsRetarded6896 жыл бұрын
@@PigreKo I think it could just be a special case, considering Bran was using Hodor as a defacto second body at one point, I think repeated connections and the meddling with time travel probably caused a special case with Hodor. I do see what you mean though, if Hodor is supposed to die at the door, and John Snow is supposed to become the king, it kinda takes what happens between and makes it utterly pointless. And I think at this point the show has caught the books so the next season could have a completely different ending than the books unless George Martin craps out the last book early.
