Great acting. The pain of a mother seeing all her offspring being destroyed. (as far as she knows) Robb Stark She sees Robb being murdered by Roose Bolton during the Red Wedding. His death confirms her worst fears, as he was her eldest child and the one she had fought so hard to protect as King in the North. Sansa Stark Catelyn believes Sansa is still a captive in King's Landing. The last she heard, Sansa was married to Tyrion Lannister. She does not know Sansa's precise condition but assumes she is alive and in danger. Arya Stark Catelyn has no concrete news about Arya and assumes she is missing or likely dead. Arya disappeared after her father's execution, and no reliable reports of her whereabouts have reached Catelyn. Bran Stark Catelyn believes Bran died when Theon Greyjoy sacked Winterfell and burned the bodies of two boys (later revealed to be farm boys, not Bran and Rickon). She assumes Bran is dead. Rickon Stark Like Bran, Catelyn believes Rickon was killed during Theon's attack on Winterfell. She has no knowledge of Rickon's survival or whereabouts.

The best part were the videos from the watch parties people had, where those who red the books and knew it was coming were shooting video of those who didn't. That's one thing you don't get with streaming, appointment TV where everyone experienced that scene at the same time and watched it together with friends and not just whenever they got around to binge it

Sorry y'all, it's based on two events. Turns out there were several horrific massacres and betrayals when speaking of Scottish independence. The Red Wedding is based on a couple real events from Scottish history. One was a case called The Black Dinner. The king of Scotland was fighting the Black Douglas clan. He reached out to make peace. He offered the young Earl of Douglas safe passage. He came to Edinburgh Castle and had a great feast. Then at the end of the feast, [the king's men] started pounding on a single drum. They brought out a covered plate and put it in front of the Earl and revealed it was the head of a black boar - the symbol of death. And as soon as he saw it, he knew what it meant. They dragged them out and put them to death in the courtyard. The larger instance was the Glencoe Massacre. Clan MacDonald stayed with the Campbell clan overnight and the laws of hospitality supposedly applied. But the Campbells arose and started butchering every MacDonald they could get their hands on. No matter how much I make up, there's stuff in history that's just as bad, or worse.

Ill never forget the first time I watched this episode and how wit affected me. Absolute devastation. No one is safe. And Katline Starks acting is just sooooo goood when shes pleading with Frey. Begging with Walter as a protective mother does, then her heart breaking scream when she watched Rob die. She dies then as well, you can see her soul had left her body after that scream when she goes blank.

The only villain ever to come close to Ramsay Bolton was Walder Frey. The man was straight diabolical with how completely and utterly heartless he was. Ramsay at least cared for the things that he played with. There was no affection, love, or positive emotion with Walder. Walder just existed to make everyone else miserable and delighted in every second of it.

Yeah, I agree with that. I like how the storyline is in the books, I think it's going to end up playing into something more in the future. But for the show, it was definitely a level up from the book to change the character for Robb's wife. I also think that the switch to Frey's wife instead of Jingle Bells was good for the show.

It will always make me so angry that this was the greatest show ever seasons 1-4. 5-6 started falling off but it still had its great moments. Season 7-8 were insanely rushed out of greed. Because the writers wanted to start another project for big money. A project they ended up not even doing. This show deserved AT LEAST 2 more full season, George RR Martin wanted 10 seasons. So its a damn shame they literally ruined the ending of what could viably be debated was the greatest show ever. The pacing, story telling and brilliant acting that led up to the Red Wedding is what made the show special, and emotionally heavy. The last two seasons were a mere shell of what it was a could of been. I am not mad where the ending went, I am just mad at how it got there.

This is probably the biggest show in my lifetime so far. Every week at work was GOT talk from seasons 1-8. I went to a new job and it was still GOT talk. I have 4 different jobs and it was still GOT talk every week, that was how big this show was.. Breaking Bad couldn't match it. This is why i can never see this series again cos they ruined it. It would have been a perfect show. Don't give shows like this to Americans, they get greedy and impatient. If you want a great show, use Europeans. They care for the art not the money. This is why Harry Potter could go 8 films without one of the actors going, I want a new start or going I want to be paid so much for each episode.
