Leonard Wood is an amazing person. An all around master mechanical wizard, totally self taught engineer, an innovator in NASCAR many times over, an inventor. Above and beyond that, he is a consumate gentleman, and a caring, humble and respectful man to all. I have always admired Leonard, and love to hear him talk and tell stories. He has a gift.

Leonard Wood you could say was a mechanical genius in the early years of NASCAR. You could also say he is the innovator of the modern day NASCAR pit stop. This legend has earned his place in the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

I grew up a Richard Petty fan and always will be. But Pearson is equal in my book. His stats are iconic. When he went part time and still dominated on speedways, that speaks volumes for him and the Wood Brothers.
