Leonardo da Vinci's art materials explained with demonstration by Sandrine Maugy

I went on a field trip to visit the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition in Southampton. This video includes a (very short) biography, a review of Leonardo's art materials and a look at the paintings in the exhibition... and the pretty awesome model of his workshop built by the pupils of a local school.

yes I am left handed - I think my brain is wired similarly to LdV - If they ever do a workshop using his materials and style do let me know would be something I would get myself too! I so enjoyed watching you draw the pear in three chalks - inspires to try!

What are the pencils you used for the pear? Derwent I think but not sure of pencil type! Merci bien 😀

The pencils are called "Derwent Drawing", mine come in a tin of 6. I used Sanguine 6220, Chinese White 7200 and Ivory Black 6700.
