Leonardo DiCaprio Discusses 'The Wolf of Wall Street'

Ellen is a big fan of his performance in "The Wolf of Wall Street," and the handsome Leonard DiCaprio was here to tell her about the film and his good friend and co-star, Jonah Hill.
Leo is nominated for a Golden Globe as Best Actor (Musical or Comedy) for his performance in "The Wolf of Wall Street" and is also getting Oscar buzz. He described his favorite scene of the film to Ellen, calling it the "most wild thing" he's ever done in his life.
"It all resulted in this insane sequence in the end where Jonah decides to stuff ham into his mouth as well, and crashes into a plate glass table... and we were doing this CPR sequence, and you know the big challenge that day -- we had to do 70 takes because they couldn't get this ham to stick on my face and they had to put K-Y Jelly, and there's literally a guy there behind this giant window with a plastic spoon just flicking ham on my face all day long as I'm doing this insane sequence! But it was almost... it was one of the most surreal things I've ever done in my entire career."

Take a look at the years DiCaprio could've won. His best shot at receiving an Oscar was probably for Wolf of Wall Street or Django Unchained. The year he was nominated for Wolf was the same year that both Matthew Mcconaughey for Dallas Buyers Club and Chiwetel Ejiofor for Twelve Years a Slave was nominated. Mcconaughey won, rightly so, but second would have easily been Ejiofor because he was outstanding; not to mention Christian Bale for his stunning performance in American Hustle as well. He was very close to winning an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for Django Unchained and an argument could definitely be made for that. However, Christoph Waltz killed it in that film and he won the Oscar which was the right decision. DiCaprio has simply been unlucky each year as he's put up against phenomenal actors.

I just saw the movie, and it is absolutely of my new favorites! Seriously, if he doesn't get an Oscar soon I don't even know what I'm supposed to do! It's impossible! His performance is beyond perfect, I can't even describe it, it's so amazing. I've always been a fan of Leos, and I've seen so many of his movies, and I love him to death, so he deserves all the best, seriously!

i seriously feel like the academy has decided to fuck with Leonardo Dicaprio. I mean, he has done some of the most amazing movies within his time and he has been nominated too many times, but every year, it gets sad watching him get rejected... :( definitely deserves better.

It's because they didn't have to "promote" him with an oscar, everybody just knows that it is the most known and admired actor since the bginning of the film industry... Every movie he has played in is just breathtaking! My favorite one is Tarantino's Django Unchained, still one of the best movies ever made... Thanks to DiCaprio

Sara K. I think he is just revered and if you asked anyone in the industry they would just tell you that Leo knows what he is doing. That is worth more than any award he could get. Peter O'Toole was that way. People just respected who the individual was.
