The old man that was a Shepherd, that gave the prayer tassels to Matthew, was one of the shepherds that was present in the fields when the Angels came and told them that Jesus was born and they went to see Jesus at the stable in the pilot episode The Shepard. That's why he said "...I'm ready to meet my Maker...again."
@Emsev1008 ай бұрын
Oh! I never thought of that. That's a clever detail!

I don’t know if the prayer tassels (tzit tzit) were explained during the livestream, but I found a wonderful explanation of it! Basically the prayer tassels were the final step of Mathew forgiving himself for what he had done to his people. The tzit tzit were a public declaration of being a practicing Jew, and he didn’t feel worthy to wear them after all he had done. Mary was helping Mathew to see that, more or less, he had been forgiven by everyone and he just needed to forgive himself. So, in a sense, putting the prayer tassels on was the last step for Mathew to fully leave his past behind him! Hope this helped😊💜

I believe people want to blame someone for the bad things... My daughter was born severely handicapped and I was upset, why did this happen shes just a tiny baby, it was not until later in life that God made me realize why she is my daughter. I have always believed in unconditional love, unfortunately thats not how I was raised. Then Destiny came along she was such a tiny baby with so many health issues but man what a fighter, she never left life get her down and even though she could not walk nor talk you could just see what she was thinking with her eyes. Anyway to make a long story short there has been alot of people who just left and never looked back and it hurt alot... But as time went on I realized that God had given me this most incredible gift I could of ever recieved in my life Destiny a child whom loved me unconditionally. It Does not matter if my hairs a mess or things are on my shirt or if I have acne lol she just loves me so I realized that God gave me the gift of unconditional love ❤❤❤❤❤.

Couldn’t watch live, but I have a dove! I was driving to work at 2 am, there was a beautiful, large white dove in the middle of the road, at 2 am!!! It gently glided up in slow motion. I KNEW God was warning me of something. I was traveling at 60, so I slowed down to 20. No sooner than I did a huge buck was in the road. I unfortunately hit him, and when my truck hit him, my truck came to a complete stop, the back end felt like it came off the ground, but I did NOT flip and I had no injuries. That dove saved me that night. Thank you, Jesus

Appreciate that you shared such insight about Jessus' need for John to stay back. "It has to be you" is really important because there are many of us in the family of God sometimes questions, "why me... what have I done / not done to deserve this." But (hope it is not a spoiler) all this truly reveals too in chapter 8 for, and a lot you said has ties to what is going to happen to chapter 8 as well. I am so glad now that you have chosen to follow Jesus all the way. When I first saw your channel before the pandemic, I know we were all praying for you all the way! So much has happened during the pandemic and after the pandemic, but I am so glad you are still strong in this journey! This race that will bring us closer and closer to God. Regarding secular songs. I actually (before Christ) loved all the songs of all kinds; but since became a worshipper, lyrics became sensitive to me, because other than the music / melody, the lyrics play a very crucial part to bring the song to life , towards darkness or towards light. That is why a lot of Christians refused to listen to secular songs. Especially of recent years. They are nothing but pointing "it is good to be in the darkness", promoting violence, unsanctified life and self inflicting pain. I look forward that when you choose secular songs, you can share (even the dark ones) the dangers of both music + lyrics that can stir one soul to either direction, especially how we can teach our next generation to discern what sort of songs to listen.

The rich man asked the people he wanted to come but when they refused he told his servants to go ask others. After they came there was still room so he then told his servants to go into highways and byways and invite other so his house would be full. I'll explain it like this ok? When you were a kid and was choosing your team to play ball. You picked what you felt was the best player, after that you would settle for second best but when you didn't have enough players for you team and only ones left were the scrub you pick them but they wasn't your first choice. It's like your the last one to be picked. You were leftovers I hope that helped to explain it a little.

I think Jesus chose John to be with Simon, to humble John. At first, John just saw Simon as being annoying and a nuisance. His demeanor changed when he understood what Simon was going through. I agree that we have to get to the point that bad things happen. But God is not afraid of our why’s? It’s important for us to give him our why’s along with our cries.

Re: John... I sort of had a different interpretation of his attitude towards Jesus' order. I mean, you guys were right about what is the right way to answer to His commands, however we all have to admit sometimes they aren't easy at all. Sometimes they go directly against what we want to do, or what we think we are. However, the loyal follower will do what was asked regardless. In that sense, John's attitude reminded me of the parable of the two sons - one that Jesus teaches on episode 8 (if I'm not mistaken). It talks about how a father orders their two sons to do something, one happily says "i'll do it" but doesn't do it, the other says "i won't do it", but he regrets and does it. Now, despite the second one having a bad attitude, he was the one who was obedient, not the first one. So this reminds me of John here especially when he says" what do you think i should say to [Jesus], no?" and Simon replies that....... yes in fact he could have said no. But John didn't say no, despite his own flesh and his own will, because he listens to Jesus FIRST. And it's interesting because, how it happens to us in life sometimes, we have a terrible atitude (which she shouldn't, but we are sinners afterall) but once we do what Jesus tell us, later we realize that (as always) He was right and we were wrong.

Even big James, who is still working on some of his previous biases, has no problem with Tamar. In fact he seemed a little annoyed that she thought they might. It's easy when you spend a lot of time with someone to forget their Origins where that they actually are different than you. For a thousand years there has been a divide between the Jews and the Gentiles. Now Jesus is asking them to forget all that. I'm sure this is going to be a little bit difficult for them to embrace right off the bat. But I think the next episode will really help with that.

1:38:29 I learned from God that no man, be they righteous or unrighteous, is above and beyond tragedy. For the rain storms fall on both the just and the unjust alike. Remember Job's words. _"The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." Remember David's actions when his child died._ 2nd Samuel Chapter 12 verse 21 & 22 _David’s servants asked him, “Why are you doing this? When the baby was alive, you cried and refused to eat. But when the baby died you got up and ate food.” David said, “While the baby was still living, I cried and refused to eat because I thought, ‘Who knows? Maybe the Lord will feel sorry for me and let the baby live.’ 23 But now the baby is dead, so why should I refuse to eat? Can I bring the baby back to life? No. Some day I will go to him, but he cannot come back to me.”_ We can't avoid suffering at points in this current life. But praise be to God that we will be rewarded for our many sufferings. One day we will never suffer again.

6:50- I have an inkling that is Bathsheba next to David. 9:33- That poor little boy, I feel bad he was exposed to that. 24:21- That wasn't backhanded, you know women weren't allowed to learn how to read or write at that time. 29:21- Oh James, that doesn't make it any better. 44:23- Only problem is Jacob, Rachel and Leah were cousins.🤢🤮 Same as Isaac and Rebekah. Abraham and Sarah too.🤢🤮 What were they thinking screwing their damn relatives?! 46:08- I thought that was disrespectful to dishonor Rachel's wishes to change Benjamin's name like that. 47:14- Until Jesus changed that with the crucifixion. 50:13- He's talking about his faith. He wanted Matthew to have it and he does the tassels are a symbol. 55:50- God sends different messagers for each person, for Mary Magdalene it was that dove, Matthew the old man to come back to God. 1:03:02- Like Isaac and Ishmael. 1:03:22- That's a Abraham, Sarah and Hagar situation there. I really hate polygamy and polyamory. 1:39:23- Peter thinks Jesus owes him and that's not how it works. 1:50:23- Remember when God tested Abraham's faith by telling him to sacrifice Isaac? Or letting Job go through bad things to strengthen his faith? When we go through trials, God is testing us like Abraham to make sure our faith is genuine. Peter and Eden having a miscarriage is their test.
