Truly a legend soprano. I absolutely LOVE her voice and how she owns the stage and her performance. I LOVE HER. Can't get enough of her voice. If only she could do a concert here in South Africa :(

Yes, but she has long since retired. She is now 95 and I doubt she sings a note anymore.

Highly unlikely! She is now 95 years young and it would be most unreasonable for her at that age to return to the platform and sing with just remnants of a voice. Her last public vocal performances was for sing GOD BLESS AMERICA for a solemn ceremony following 9/11. Before that, she stopped concertizing in 1997 and ended her opera career in 1985. So all that's left are the records and some videos.

Sometimes you just half to laugh and sort of cry. The singing is soooooo good, soooo over the top, soooo everything - everything you want out of the pieces she gives it to you 10 times over. It's a tickling of joy that runs through your body like an electric shock. Her voice is so squeaky clean on those top notes, no feminine - and she's not just hitting the notes, the top notes have color, shading, character. She is unbelievable. I walk away from this video shaking my head, as if to say: how on earth did she just do that? I don't blame the audience one bit for going berserk.
