I could listen to 5'40 - 5'59 forever. That flash of her eyes as she comes off that last spectacular (and spectacularly sustained) final note just says' Yes, audience. I nailed it.' The the slightest hint of a smile as flicks her right hand across her torso and turns to her conductor. I almost expected James Levine to fall at her feet. What a joy for them both to create that.

No need to comment on the glory of Leontyne Price's voice. If you can't discern that, you should have your hearing checked. Seldom does one acknowledge her stage deportment and her attire, both of which are a lost art these days. Ms Price knew how to "dress for the occasion " and she knew how to carry her stature. Every aspect of her artistry is evident in this stunning video.

Fantastic pacing on the last note which let her put a final gust of emotion into it after a long duration and finish the note with full intention, which made it so that even if she had sung the piece badly before that (which she of course didn't), it would have made enough of a final impression to warrant all the applause.

My God!!! It's funny that she got me once and she gets it again whenever I hear her. Her voice is a natural phenomenon. No one has a voice like her, you will recognize her as soon as she opens her mouth. In my opinion, she is the greatest of lyrical sopranos. My beloved Maria and Renata, you will have to forgive me. You're right behind her. Leontyne is my first opera love. The first woman in your life that you either hate, kill or love forever. The latter worked for me. This terrible woman has changed my life more than anyone else ... by her singing. Endless admiration.
