You could see the tears well-up in her eyes, no doubt thinking about the great injustice done to Ms. Anderson. Ms. Price will always be a shining example of a true American patriot. She's a national treasure.

She is the greatest American operatic soprano and the most beautiful voice I ever heard on stage. Bravissima!

I agree. Price had the most sensuously beautiful voice I've ever heard. Although I was overwhelmed when I heard Caballe. To me, she had the greatest instrument, and hers was (even 44 years later) the greatest singing I've ever heard. But one could bask in the sound of Leontyne's voice.

Madame Price is so regal & true. It's the most beautiful voice to come from America. We saw her in concert in 1976 & my wife & I could not believe our ears. And let's just say the rest is history. Sincerely Arnold Bourbon Amaral P.S. ONE PLANET ONE PEOPLE 🌍🌹👑📖🙏🎹

Miss Price’s vocal technique was impeccable. She also knew how to take care of her voice, and sang off her “vocal interest” and not her “vocal capital.”

I can't help but to cry tears of gratitude for the victory of great American spirit of Ms. Price, ms. Anderson and the DAR daughters who righted their mothers wrong! God bless and preserve America.

I doubt that any of those DAR hicks and rubes could even begin to appreciate the talents and brilliance of Leontyne Price. None of them were worthy to kiss the hem of her gown.

Now, now. Marian Anderson would not have approved of such hate speech. And the DAR aren’t the same women who blocked her 40+ years earlier.

cjordan99 she never really did the role on stage I don't think. But she can sing it and bring it home like only Madame Price can do so Regal so beautiful and she's 55 years old sure they know her now shame on them for denying Marian Anderson to perform. I'm so glad Madame Price conducts herself like A GREAT LADY And that voice speaks for itself all the performances on KZbin or listening to her on a CD Opera do not do her justice. Because once you see her live that VOICE just freaks you out it's so primal that color so beautiful the best VOICE to come out of the United States. And the way she speaks so dignified a GREAT LADY.👑 I had the privilege OF SEEING HER TWICE IN concert recital 1975 and 1985. In 1975 my wife and I had been married for 1 year we had not been to many operas prior to this concert. But we never heard anything like it.It was sold out a great experience she sang for 2 hours. And did 4 encores. Thank you for posting this again I just added it to her playlist I have over 80 performances of this great lady.My wife and I will never forget the first time we saw her and heard her sing saw her again in 1985 after she had retired from the Operatic Stage @ The Metropolitan Opera final performance. She still sounded great at 57 years old. Enjoy she's one of a kind. I felt that it was a great privilege to be in her presence INDEED 👑. The 1985 concert recital PERFORMANCE was SRO sold out in 2 days & it was @ the same beautiful concert hall that we first heard MADAME PRICE in 1975 with incredible acoustics. 1985 when she sang that beautiful Puccini Aria from Madame Butterfly I quickly stood up and applauded saying very loudly BRAVA. BRAVA. everyone else followed suit Madame Price turned around and acknowledged me with a nod. I looked at my wife and she was teary-eyed a moment I'll never forget. Sincerely Arnold Bourbon Amaral 🙏👴🌿🌎🌍🌏

If ever a group of people did NOT deserve something glorious, it was THIS group. She should have dedicated it to Marian Anderson, and then left. Right out the FRONT door! Alas, she has too much “class” for that.
