EXACTLY! :') the amount of people who still don't grasp the concept that leos dont need uvb light, is crazy! I think it mainly comes from people who own reptiles who truly need the uvb light, and they just assume leos need it too.

+Leopard Gecko The worst part is when they think leopard geckos need UVB, and when it comes to a reptile who actually needs it, like a box turtle, they don't think they need it. >:( >:C
@92mahl7 жыл бұрын
Leopard Gecko uvb is optional but not bad either way. it does however help with a light/dark cycle indoors, but mainly it assists with D3 so you don't have to worry as much about supplementing it (I still do, but they need less supplements with the light). oddly enough my geckos love to bask in the light, even though the they have 3 hides of different temperatures. I use a bulb that isn't super strong.

Would these "tanks" be ok for someone whos looking for a leopard gecko setup? I know breeders use these tubberware crates like in the video for their geckos. But I'm actually on a motorcycle, it's my only transportation so of course I can't go around buying a 30 or more gallon aquarium or terrarium for them, but something lightweight like these crates he's using I'm more than able to do. Would these be ok? Since their plastic I'm not sure how the heat source would work, or if I should be concerned with the plastic melting or warping over time.
@letstryitout49989 жыл бұрын
CN azu no you should be fine, you can keep them in tubs, with paper towels, and little bowls for their things and they shouldnt melt or warp, depending on the power, however when i had a few, i had a 20 gallon tank, because i had multiple, and I feel like mayve you should maybe have someone you know get one to you
@cnazu51859 жыл бұрын
sorin ninesling Do you know what kind of heating a tub would need? I'm not really understanding how to keep one side warm and the other side cooler. are there different size heat mats?
@letstryitout49989 жыл бұрын
yea you can get different sized mats, however i didnt use a mat. i used a lamp, wiht a rack enclosure under it, and the other side i used a log over the other half for the cool side, but for a tub i think a med powered heating lamp would be fine, having never used a tub for them i think an online how to would be better for you

I have a Female Tremper Albino Leopard Gecko and I've always thought about getting another male to breed, however I don't know if 3 years old is too old to breed or whether the male is biting her for territorial reasons or nipping her before mating. She is 75 grams aswell so an ok breeding weight.
@nate549 жыл бұрын
When the male is nipping her tail he is pretty much getting ready to breed, it's not uncommon for lizards to bit their partners for better grip while mating
@justminemon9 жыл бұрын
They usually mature at one year and yeah, I think that 75 grams is a good weight. To see if they're a good size, their tail will usually be the size of your thumb.
