Tremendous musician. One of the very best slide guitar players. Underrated. Two of his best songs. Great live performance. 👍🏻🇸🇪✌️🏴

David Lindley and Crew. An unappreciated genius who we will never see again in our time.

Saw them around this time. Incredible. Nonstop party, the most together band I ever heard, Lindley's two guitar techs swapping out the steel guitars all night long, two available to him when they weren't swapping one, every band member was given equal opportunity to shine, too. A real gentleman on the stage. Reggae Everly Bros/Twist and Shout went on forever, and it was glorious. They all had much more gear onstage than we see here.

Oh man , Mr Dave hitting the groove at his peak. After years of being the sideman, he put together this classic lineup of Er Rayo-X. Finally Dave could play what he wanted, how he wanted. Playful, high energy, a mixed bag of genres. Sweet, sweet music from his heart. ✌&❤ forever

Saw El Rayo X one time only in a San Diego club in the mid 80's. Saw Dave again by himself at San Diego State Un again in the late 80's putting on one of his stringed instruments from around the world clinics. Amazing talent. RIP.

Tear it up Mr Dave!!! Gawd how are those people still sitting down? So polite. Lindley's slide playing is a gift that keeps on giving, a gift from the gods. His tone is phenomenal here. This is the first time this youtube video has popped up for me. The 3 best songs from the 1st El Rayo-X album all in a row. WOW ~ Thank you Leopardus Jacobus. RIP Mr. Dave ~

That Double Supro lap steel through his Dumble Amp, TONE! And David single-handedly brought the Weissenborn Koa guitar out of the dust bins of history. Opened for him a few times in Bellingham, Wa. He was so kind to me.

I read a review about a live ElrayoX album in a biker magazine in 1983. Didn't find the album until 1987 in a used record store. Rag Bag was the highlight.

Wonder if he was as cool off stage as he was on. He seems like someone who you would actually enjoy touring with, and that's rare with band front men.

Certainly among the best live Lindley videos on you tube, very good audio and video quality. Dig Jorge Calderon on a Danectro 6-string bass and Bernie Larson on what looks like a Supro or National Res-O-Glas guitar. You hardly ever see Dave play the frontmost half of his Supro doubleneck......

I just noticed the drummer is left-handed. I've been playing in garage bands since 1970 and nearly every band had someone who was left-handed. One or two lefties played righty, but the others were true lefties.

David Lindley is phenomenal, but he's not a rock legend strictly because of his irritating high pitched, thin, reedy voice.Has no equals on stringed instruments though...
