Note on my own playing: My intonation is a bit on the "low side" sometimes. I did not play the exact articulation (dotted slurred notes) and the dynamics are hard to do with organ and much easier with piano. Funny: The "f" in measure 29 I did not play at all - the note just did not come out of the trombone - however, nobody noticed :)

I found the beginning two measures to be the slightest of hairs rushed but nice in recover from the third measure onward. There was an A flat I believe you hung over for more than it should that actually made it sound more stylistically connected which I might apply that to when I try this. Overall it was beautiful playing, nice control all over, and wonderful tone. I personally found myself replaying this video over and over because it is so nice to listen to. Going by the performance the trombone gave such a nice intuitive and insightful sound that left me in wonder and the organ accompaniment gave such a reminiscing, child like vibe that just brings back my more youthful days.

@@fernandmusician1889 g major, hence one major third higher ... in that key you need to be very skillful, it's demanding even on alto trombone, since you have to reach the high d multiple times ... by the way, the full leopold mozart concerto is a beautiful piece of music

very nice, great sound, range and intonation. Suggest use of alternate positions to smooth out the phrasing. try to keep the tongue fairly passive: "doo" all the way through not the occasional "too"; be very subtle and don't let notes of length "swell" within the note itself. (BTW, I play & teach using my 1957 88H w/ rose brass bell, Bach 5GS mpce)
@Bonowombo
@Bonowombo 9 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I personally prefer to not use alternate positions in slow pieces because of different overtones (it sometimes just doesn´t feel/sound the same). Also, dynamics, articulation etc. were invented to make a piece more interesting, as is different tonguing.....to "doo all the way through" is probably nor for me. However, this might also be a different perception due to different language....I´m maybe playing "in German", so to say :) But thanks for your feedback!

@Bonowombo
@Bonowombo Жыл бұрын
Try isolating parts of pieces you know (like one or two bars) and play them in a loop with a metronome (or even backwards). You‘ll find this much more difficult, cause it‘s hardly possible to play this by ear. Habe fun! 👌🎶

Mozart would be very proud. Can I make one suggestion for your future practice? (Yes, I am a trombonist and can't listen to anything without being critical :) I heard a few passages where your slide was a little slower than your tongue. Ralph Sauer and Jeff Reynolds always taught me to think "slide ahead" on these passages. Beautiful sounds my friend!
