No one can ever convince me that Phil’s isn’t one of the greatest metal vocalist ever. To be doing it as long as he has now and to possibly sound better then he ever has is not something that ever really happens. Then add amazing cleans atop of that and the fact that for the last almost two decades Phil’s low have kinda been the standard for what your lows should aspire to be in deathcore and metalcore scene.

When Phil imitated the guitar part during the breakdown on I, Dementia I smiled. I remember a video on his KZbin years ago where he mentioned he didn't listen to metal and I was worried we wouldnt get much more music from him and Whitechapel. Really glad 15 years have gone by and we still get more of this amazing band! Also, this sounds incredible, thank you for your work!

I'm not even a big Whitechapel fan, but they're true professionals when it comes to live performances. The video doesn't do justice. Phil's vocals are like a bomb going off. @@hendrik492a bit. Used to be just a higher false chord from the same/similar point his lows were produced. Sounds like he relaxed it and pushed it up the back of his throat towards his nose and let a little more voice through with less focus on compression and more on shaping/control. Almost like screaming in the Stitch voice which is a good technique to get way the hell up there. Lots of diaphragm work and my boy pinpointed and mastered it. I’m not an expert at all but I modeled my early teen vocals around Phil and 15 years later I feel like I’ve got a decent enough understanding.
