Brilliant! Mine had the same issue, and this was the very first result I found when looking for a solution. You made a comment about music, and I really appreciate that you didn't have some kind of loud, repetitive song playing. You explained exactly what you were doing, and that was a million times better. Thank you!

I met Robin Williams while working on the set of RV in Vancouver....and you've got hairier knuckles than him!! ha ha.....I just took apart my TC Helicon and got to this part TC Helicon - VoiceSolo FX150, VoiceLive Play, VoiceLive 2 - Edit Encoder....looked up how long it will take to replace....almost a month....I'm giggin so I need to fix this asap! Been searching for quite awhile and by some freaky click of the mouse I came across your video. I wanted right from the start to get that part off the board and then take it apart cause I suspected that obviously something was broken inside. Your video pretty much confirms this to me so much I'm going for it. I'll order the part anyways as a backup for future days since this is a crappy defect. Musicians out there should be warned to treat this unit with Kid Gloves. Just don't toss it in the gig bag or what have you and expect it to work. Have you read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance? I did a long time ago as a wee lad and I've lived by it ever since. Your living by it too in my opinion. Well done sir.....well done and thank you. keepin it Real in Thailand! I'll give it a go and contact you again if it works! .....keepin fingers crossed.

I dont get that either with the music thing on instructions, maybe people have a hard time with english and dont want to be embarrassed. Or they just dont bother to much, not everyone can be a good teacher like you, because you sure talk a lot, but there is a lot to learn from you as well! Never knew that there is something like an encoder, always thought everything would be a potentiometer and would always work with variable resistance. But there needs to be an Encoder chip then as well right ?

Normally you use a microcontroller to process the A&B inputs from the encoder to get direction speed and distance. Hobbyist circuits would probably use an Arduino microcontroller. This seems a pretty good description www.seeedstudio.com/blog/2020/01/19/rotary-encoders-how-it-works-how-to-use-with-arduino/
