He easily could have said nothing and allowed an innocent man to go to jail and have continued to live under his assumed identity but he did the right thing… how many of us would have don’t that I’d in a similar situation?

I's so glad I found this but he does not sound good here at all. He sounds tired and breathless. But, the album recording of this is awesome!

I have never quite understood why Gary Morris is considered “one of the greats”. He’s by no means horrible, or bad… I just feel like he can’t quite belt, and he sounds too operatic. It sounds like he’s stuck in his head voice when he’s singing a power note. It’s not like I can do any better, but I’ve always wondered if I was the only one who heard it.

I couldn’t disagree with you more. I saw the show 11 times .. from the West End to Broadway to Los Angeles and all before 1995 .. and Gary Morris was far and away my favorite Valjean. Not saying he was the ‘best’ Valjean ever .. that’s a subjective opinion .. just the one I liked most.
