Les Paul Junior DC Build Part 6
Its been way over a month since any kind of update on this guitar build and tings were going so well!
Anyway I have got a bunch of work done on the fretboard which is definitely something I have been putting off. A couple of months ago I was considering jumping into a laser machine and it would have been able to do almost all the work in this video for me, but at this time I just can not justify the costs. Renovating a house is expensive, and also time consuming.
But, most of the legwork is done in this video for the fretboard. Inlays and final sanding to go before the fretwork and then gluing the whole thing onto the neck. Which is something of a new order of operations for me, which has not been going so well before, but it's still early days as this is only my 4th build.
Soon it will be onto the neck shaping, neck gluing and then all the final sanding before my next dread, the finish. This means Id best start getting materials together for the next build......
The good news is I have a compressor and paint gun, which I yet to take out the box. But I am still not fully convinced on the colour and type of finish and application I will be using.
Id love to do the cherry red grain filler and then go over it with nitro lacquer, but that might just be a bit much for the first time using a paint gun. Who knows!
Stick around to find out
