LES SABLES - HORTA 2021 : marathon race (4K) 🌊 Season 2021 episode 6

My first true ocean race: "Les Sables-Horta". Usually a two-stage race between Les Sables d'Olonne and Azores islands but this year's edition was specific for sailing non- stop around the Azores and back to France, almost 2600 nautical miles. We expected a summer race around the famous "Azores High" but instead we had quite challenging conditions with a series of depressions, a lot of upwind sailing and bad weather. It was a race which makes you a better sailor and takes you and your boat to the limit.

Congratulations on finishing your first ocean race. Must be a good feeling to start a race from Les Sables. Thank you for posting video, it's nice insight in sailor's life on board during the race. Was this also first ocean race for Hugo? ps. Is this race "prologue" for a solo race from Les Sables d’Olonne and back that starts 3 years from now ? :) Edit: I'm sad to see you retired from fastnet :( I hope you are safe. Salut
