I was at the Met Opera for this performance. It was truly fantastic. An opera over five hours just flew by. Susan Graham and Bryan Hymel were stupendous. Deborah Voigt was very good. The chorus and dancers were thrilling. I can't wait to see this again when it is on TV.

Joyce is such a great host! We better see her during the 2018-19 HD season!

Indeed, Susan Graham and Berlioz- a match made in heaven. Bryan Hymel is also heavenly good in this production. Best replacement imaginable! I wish him to stay this way in the future.

I have completely lost track of how many times I've watched this. It is THE BEST. I want Susie and Joyce to do some official FUCKYEAHMEZZOS interview special thing where they sit down for 2 hours, okay maybe a whole day, and chat. And then sing a duet. Or maybe 5.

It's interesting that Joyce is now performing Didon. I'm not sure if Susan has left the role behind -- she sang it recently in Chicago, I think -- but if you see her drop a chair on Joyce's head, you'll know why!! :)

God, when are they going to stop these breathless intermission interviews-all part of the selling out of the art form-the poor singers have no choice-but terrible for the voice and concentration-singers today don't have the clout to say no-Imagine Jon Vickers agreeing to this crap-imagine singing these roles, in the midst of them having to do this chitchat This interview had a few interesting points-because of the surprise debut of Hymel
