@@aeviwishbone2058 For context, I’m 70-ish years old, raised in conservative, southern USA, and was a schoolteacher for eighth and ninth graders in the last part of the 1970s. At its core, I think this song is appropriate for any age group where the kids are already aware of contraception. Beyond that, there’s no foul language, and it articulates excellent ethical propositions and challenges. Check your local school board temperature before trying this out in your classroom room.

I dig all music honestly, hands up I could be caught singing "I'm a Barbie Girl in Barbie world, made of plastic, lifes fantastic" but will also admit its the most pathetic piece of artistry and is a generic pop bubble, but songs like this, "Get Better" are lyrically and poetically joyous with a melody si uplifting it's a message that should be Prime minister at number 10 if it was somehow possible! 😂 😂 But did it get massive airplay? Did it fook, mainstream would class this as rubbish and that is a sad reflection on the state of the place! 😂

+Bryden Schilz Humans are like that. One day it's: "I'm going to achieve!" and a few minutes later, they forget what they were even thinking about. Because humans just follow whatever looks nice but lose interest quickly whether it's because something more interesting showed up or because it becomes too much of a chore. Like working out shouldn't be a chore to anyone, it's fun getting to move around like I used to as a kid. But you can't even get a person to sweep the floor with a fucking broom because they might miss Game of Thrones...it's ridiculous. And at this point, I gave up on humanity as a whole. Yes, there's people like Pip, but everything is created with one massive flaw because in this Universe we live in, it is LAW that nothing is allowed to be perfect. There is NO SUCH THING as perfection because "perfect" is not possible, it's just a notion, a thought, a human concept. Humans are trying to be the gods they worshiped for millions of years but they don't realize they've been wrong for millions of years...

Tea Requiem as much as i appreciate any advice or points of view, i have to admit being slightly confused as to why you enlightened me on this ideal youve formed? is it because i lost my focus for a while and was reconnected to it? if it was just to give youre views thank you!
@Mstea01499 жыл бұрын
Bryden Schilz Or maybe it's because I saw your comment and had a few seconds to type. How you take it, how you interpret it is left to you because I couldn't care any less, I've given up on humanity. But that doesn't mean I don't get bored, too.
@Mstea01499 жыл бұрын
Bryden Schilz Lol lost faith in myself? What the fuck are you on about? Oh you are really steaming about this whole thing. I must have really hit a nerve. I answered your question normally without ANY hostility. Fucking hypocrite. "Oh this song makes me want to be better" BUT LOSE YOUR SHIT at the first fucking random stranger on the internet that doesn't actually give a fuck about what you had to say. You're just a sad, useless little ginger that's pissed off at the world and thinks you're owed for the treatment you went through. But, guess what dick weed: EVERYONE has suffered because of some other asshole that couldn't get over themselves. Now I have to sit here reading about me being an asshole when all I said was that I type shit because I'm bored. EXCUSE ME if you were hoping you'd get praise of some fucking sort for your "I wanted to get better but forgot!" For the record, there's no faith in humanity to be had. You think you just helped your species? I tell you the truth, THE TRUTH, and you lost your shit and now I'm an asshole because of it? Of course you'd hate the truth, being raised in a world of deceit and lies. But isn't it really sad when a person isn't allowed to comment on something PUBLIC with everyone losing their shit because they took offense to words. But in the end, they are just words. You give them power when you cower, man is so absurd...

[Verse 1: Scroobius Pip] Imagine a song, that really reached out and touched kids And not in a Daily Mail way, innocence corrupted But in a way where criticism remained constructve And wasn't too politicised and children weren't instructed To behave in a way that was unrealistic Or made out the way they live was somehow sick and twisted But simply pointed out reasons to get it together Not shouting "get a job", but just saying [Hook: Scroobius Pip] Get better, get better, get better, get better Get better, get better, get Get better, get better, get better, get better Get better Get better Get better, get better, get better Get better, get better, get Get better, get better, get better Get better [Verse 2 Scroobius Pip] You see the young mother capital is where I live Little kids being raised by slightly bigger kids Society seems unphased that this is how it is While I'm constantly amazed that this is how it is They confuse love at first sight with lust at first lie It must have hurt right when trust first took flight You're young, you've no rights, you long for new heights But some of those nights leave more than love bites Tops cropped, skirts stop at the top of their thighs And the boys got that hungry look in their eyes They wanna be grown up and have respect you see But they're acting uneducated sexually I ain't saying' be celibate Go out and have your fun But there's plenty you can do without impregnation And there ain't nothing wrong at all with having children Just build yourself a little before you try to build them And [Hook: Scroobius Pip] Get better, get better, get better, get better Get better, get better, get Get better, get better, get better, get better Get better Get better Get better, get better, get better Get better, get better, get Get better, get better, get better Get better [Verse 3 Scroobius Pip] I see small town syndrome growing in size There's not a lot to do, so the kids they decide To get drunk every night, a glazed eyes disguise Do drugs every night, tired from their lives People getting off their faces for a quiet night in Kids rolling around the streets rowing and fighting But it's all just because life ain't too exciting And it's easier than trying to do the right thing But there are other choices --- if you want them You don't have to tow the line and just float with the flotsam You can build your time better when you find a passion The Internet and public services give free education So it really ain't a case of rich or poor It's a case of self-motivation and nothing more Like Billy says, whether you have or you have not wealth The system might fail you, but don't fail yourself Just [Hook: Scroobius Pip] Get better, get better, get better, get better Get better, get better, get Get better, get better, get better, get better Get better Get better Get better, get better, get better Get better, get better, get Get better, get better, get better Get better

"So it really ain't a case of rich or poor, It's a case of self-motivation and nothing more" not true though. of course what you make from your life has a lot to do with self-motivation, but -- being poor vs being rich -- the prospects on life that you internalise from a young age are just not the same. your level of self-motivation can highly depend upon the class you were brought up in.
