Something I just realized while watching this is that: for someone we only ever see in pictures (and not even entirely), Luz's father has such a massive influence on this story. Luz's family moved to Gravesfield to be closer to a hospital for her father. If they hadn't, Luz would never have found the portal to the Demon Realm and would never have met Amity and the others. He's also the one who gave Luz her first Azura book, which is a massive influence on her life, and also one of the first thing Amity and Luz bonded over. So kudos to Dad! Even while he was not there, he was making the life of his daughter better.

It's not only just great representation. But it's just a healthy and wholesome example of a relationship. Younger audiences who begin dating need to know what is being there for someone and being honest with your feelings. The two extremes being Romeo and Juliet and Bella and Edward, Lumity is very healthy and appropriate for the age of these characters

Looking back at this, seeing the development of both Luz and Amity was an awesome journey. Sure it was the classic rivals to friends to lovers, but it's a trope that still works if done correctly and Lumity was done beautifully. Its always a treat to see people react to these moments. From the Grom dance all the way to their first kiss. Easily one of my favorite couples of all time for both wholesomeness and representation.

I love this! I'm so glad y'all talked about when you started shipping them because for me I think it was the ice glyph episode that did it. Something about Amity putting Luz in time-out to keep her safe but not being mad when she got out and let her help, their dynamic as they worked together as a team for the first time, I was sold. There's a lot I love about that episode that I could go into for ages but that would be a way longer comment I don't have the energy for right now, it's definitely underrated imo. The episode where Amity and Luz went into Willow's mind solidified it for me. The communication, the comforting, the hug, it was the start of something great and I sensed it in the air. I'm so glad all these character traits didn't "magically disappear" once they got together to create useless conflict. They've always been healthy for each other and they always will be, and seeing it be represented on screen was beautiful. Truly a highlight in queer history.

Crikey! You two together on screen is a wonderful thing to watch! You perfectly encourage each other to be disasters even just when reacting! :P Lol second episode of Amity interacting with Luz: "I NEVER get in trouble." And thus started the very long string of the many, many, many times Amity got into trouble...because of Luz specifically. The first Amity smile is just a wonderful but brief moment! I loved it! I don't know if its because I'm nonbinary, trans, or horrible with fashion, or what...but I have always LOVED Luz's Grom outfit! I think it's a fantastic look and I personally don't even see it as weird(but Amity's comment about it is perfect and wonderful) in any way. lol The Amity gay panic in Wing It Like Witches was just too good! I'll always love that in the episode where Luz is trying to distract herself, Luz still admits she messed up, Amity still confronts her about her actions, and it still ends with Luz trusting Amity with her heavy feelings. I have a show recommendation, It’s called Mobile Suit Gundam Witch From Mercury. It’s an Anime, The English dub actor for the main protagonist is Jill Harris, aka Charlie from Hazbin Hotel. The show has a strong LGBTQ focus, fun characters, a cohesive and strong story, has this mix of light hearted moments and very dark moments, and some incredible action sequences. After the Owl House ended, I felt a need to find something to get me engaged and make me look forward to some again, that’s when I found Witch from Mercury. As someone who wasn’t even that big of an anime fan, I highly recommend this show to you. Season two is having episodes out every Sunday so if you’re interested, now Is a pretty good time to start watching.
