Sam Jones is one of my favorite filk songs. It is interesting hearing what Leslie was trying to parallel with it.

Cool to catch one of these. Came across Carmin Miranda's Ghost and have been following ever since.

Hi, Leslie! I'm a pretty new fan to your music, but it speaks to my anarchist heart, especially your Firestorm album! I've gotta tell you, dealing with Employment Services recently, "Paper Sea" hasn't aged a day.

I found Leslie Fish's Carmen Miranda's ghost album thanks to space station 13 ; a videogame.

A friend linked me Some Kind of Hero suddenly one day because of how it mirrored how wrong everything can typically go in a round of the video game Space Station 13. This led me to listen to more music and learn more about Leslie Fish, who is an entire type of person that one would think never existed from the way folks talk about that period of time in passing. It's heartening to know she was and still is out there. I don't play too many games involving space but the first opportunity I got to name a space ship that I got to fly, I couldn't help but call it the Antelope.

Love from the UK! I’ve shared your songs and stories with nearly everyone I know.

Thanks for these. I discoverd Filk through a lot of filesharing locations during the 1990s. A lot of those files had incorrect information about them. I never Knew Leslie wrote some of those songs.

There were a lot of Off Centaur tapes where someone other than the author sang a song. Those tapes and songs got shared, but without the liner notes. Even this week I had to explain to someone, "That's Steve's song (Savitzky), Frank just sang it on one album"

Same here my mom's mantra was "your hair! Your clothes! You look awful"! She even tried to *trick* me into getting my hair cut and styled - it involved a blindfold. I found out and absolutely refused to cooperate. "You have to! I already paid for it!" As you know, it doesn't work that way. I told her to get her money back. Finally she wailed "go ahead and look AWFUL then". I have long black wavy hair that I got frequent compliments on. I truly think it some kind of "dis-empowering" magic ( remember the story of Samson).
