I'm loving this AMA. I'm 23, and found Leslie (my friends know her as 'Miss Fish') through credits from Mercedes Lackey's albums at 13/14, and to this day I rarely shut up about my adoration for her. The Firestorm album sparked something in me, though, as a physically disabled person, my favorite song really has to be The Cripples' Shield-Wall - It just makes me so giddy to hear about disabled folk in a fantastical and positive light. This is all to say, I love learning more about Leslie Fish, and my friends haven't heard me be quiet about her in a long while. I knew she was a trekkie, and involved with the fandom, and wrote fic for it, but there's something so wonderful about hearing specifics. Here's to good music and a love for art!

Bonus: I've been meaning to, and looking for, ways to buy some of the albums, and finally got the chance to snatch them from Prometheus Music. Car rides are about to be infinitely easier lol

@@sunshinemutt2032 A lot of them are up on the Internet these days: here on You Tube, on Bandcamp, a few other places. Contact Prometheus Music to find out where. Good hunting!

"The ethics I hold, the things I worship, are life, freedom, intelligence, and art, in that order." I'm saving that quote.

@@_GhostFox_ Awww, thank you. We didn't have time to get into my "breeding for intelligence" program, but it's still going on. Do you know anybody who lives in, or will be visiting, central Arizona anytime soon? I have a litter of super-intelligent kittens to give away.

Speaking as someone doing my nine months of trade school, that last part definitely resonates. At my age, we're thriwing darts at a wall blind as to who we think we are, much less where we're bound, so a smaller commitment that sets you well feels the right course

She’s an amazing woman if you read her Wikipedia page. From her music to her activism, to her down to earth personality. I only today listened to a few of her songs from Magic, Moondust & Melancholy. Of all her songs, “Banned from Argo” is a crowd favourite but I think some of my favourites are “The Arizona Sword,” “Of cabbages,” and “Better than who.” Highly encourage all to check out her exquisite music. For me it connects me to a feeling I’ve had since childhood of a past life in another world full of of Magic and Mystery.

I have heard that she does not like performing Banned from Argo anymore, mostly because it has been done so often. However, I have a version of it that a friend gave me that has a guy doing a sort of "audience participation script" in the background, like he makes sound effects when the crew run to the stairs, makes a "bubble bubble" sound when the ship leaking air is mentioned, cries "Nooooooo!" when the suggestion for using the beer to make a jet is made..I wish I knew where my friend got that recording from, because it is, to me, the most fun version.

@@alexbrown1930 Aha! You've been looking for the wrong title! The song you mentioned is called "Transport 18", and it's been recorded a few times in different settings. Get hold of my publisher, Mary Creasey at Random FActors Inc. and ask her where you can get a copy. Good hunting!
