I am a black woman. My mother, due to Parkinson’s Disease had a total of 4 falls. I called 911, and Life Alert called 911. Dispatch sent WHITE MEN to get my mother off the floor; both of us crying our eyes out. I was very appreciative of those competent, capable men who were able to lift Mom’s 5’9 190 lbs body to her bed. I didn’t care if they were from planet Neptune, or colored green. All I cared about was their professionalism and competency. After watching that video, I was truly disgusted. Not all of us think that way. All you California residents, you have been slapped with reality, vote accordingly. Unfortunately, I am not holding my breath.

When I was around 11 yrs old, I went to see my dad get an award. He was a Detroit firefighter and was in his 40s. The award was for carrying an unconscious woman (big woman) down 4 stories on an iced over ladder. He only weighed around 180 lbs. Didn't even know if he was going to be able to do it, and was praying the whole way down. He was a white man and the lady (that happened to be black) was forever grateful and didn't care he was white

I’m a 1st responder in the LA area and I’ve run into this firefighter several times. Horrible attitude, obviously doesn’t stay on top of her physical fitness. This is exactly the kind of firefighter that I wouldn’t want to come to my house if my family needed help. Just get that sense of “I ain’t goin’ in there” attitude coming from her….

I am an unaffiliated, certified fire fighter in MN. When I was in fire school we had two woman in our class. Great girls, nice people, but both could barely move the lightest male student when doing a drill let alone an average size male. Fire ppe adds a lot of weight. Even some men struggled to move their partners in the drill. I am of the firm belief that if you can not carry or drag your fellow fire fighter, you should not be going into a house fire. It is not fair to them that in a worse case scenario, you will have to leave them to die.

Adam. I am Canadian, and one of the companies putting out the fires are from Canada. One is Coulson Aviation. That is a company from a small logging town Port Alberni, in BC Canada. and operates world wide. Coulson is part of a larger BC company that operations are rooted in the timber industry. It's amazing a small logging town in BC that has under 10,000 people living in it, can produce a world leading Fire Fighting Company and California seems to struggle with it.

All I could think about was when I shattered both heels in a rock climbing accident and was in a wheelchair unable to walk for several months. I lived alone in a 3rd floor apartment. We had an elevator but it had a sign saying "In Case of Fire, Use Stairs". I was so scared there'd by a fire and I'd have to somehow slide down 3 flights of stairs on my bum and leave my wheelchair behind. Luckily that never happened!

Glad you’re okay Adam!! I own a forest management company here in California specializing in fire fuels management and wildland firefighting . I can tell you firsthand since my first fire in 2001 in Malibu that the city has done very little in terms of fire prevention in well known areas of the city and county. Very disappointing how this state has continued to spend our tax dollars on everything other than things that truly matter to all of us. We need to keep pushing to get these people out of office, and hopefully some of these folks will start to change their minds about who they are electing.

Adam, I worked in emergency management for Arizona for 11.3 years. I had many accommodations and was respected by the county EMs. I was terminated for reporting fraud waste and abuse to the amount of 2.3 million dollars. I was terminated so they could keep the DEI hire Division Director who was the first female EM in Arizona. She quit her post the first 2 weeks of COVID!

My Vietnam Veteran status didn't count, it was obvious that I was being discriminated against because I wasn't Black, Brown, Asian, Middle Eastern, Creole, mulatto, Samoan, Phillipino, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Mongolian, Native Indian, Australian Aboriginal, Eskimo... So I reluctantly gave up. WOKE DEI has only made things catastrophically worse. This is the worst kind of discrimination and its unconstitutional and should be illegal at the Federal Level. $200,000,000,000.00 in property damage 20 DOA, 20 MIA and it's all because of WOKE, LGBTQ+++, DEI and Gavin Newsom...

I’d just add that if a homeowner in these fire and landslide prone areas continue to buy and build there, they are they are also negligent and complacent if a firefighter or cop is injured while putting out a fire or rescuing someone. We’ve known for years just how incompetent the politicians here are and how they refuse to engage in forest management yet we spend tens of millions so we can have our view of the ocean. This is especially true for the Malibu residents who see these events on a regular basis. Assigning 100 percent of the blame to everyone else seems absurd.
