Could you talk about how you transition from block to block? To me, your blocks always look pretty different to each other, where sets count change, rep ranges change, exercises change, the amount of accessories change. Could you talk about how you make sense of that and how you reduce the noise in the data when doing large changes? I would assume there's some rationale behind it, like keeping the same volume, but splitting it differently, or using the same set count but reducing the reps, or just shifting intensities around. It would be very interesting to hear your thoughts on this, and as a self-coached lifter, I'm quite afraid to make too many changes from block to block. It's typically just changing one exercise to something slightly more specific as peaking comes around, or reducing the rep count by 1. Super small stuff like that, but I see other coaches doing larger changes with more confidence, and probably more success too. Cheers!

This is what my block intro/review videos are for.

@@BrazosValleyStrength Yeah I understand that. Those are for explaining the broad changes and what actually informs your programming changes, but I wonder how you make sense of it all. How do you wildly change the rep and set count, and even intensity, in such a way that you can make sense of it block to block? Most coaches today seem to lean towards keeping things fairly static between blocks. It feels impossible to me to figure out what works when the changes made are too large.

How do you suggest we train at maximum effort on a prescribed rpe 6 set? There are goals in this program (for example) to manage fatigue and recovery. Not sure how you define effort vs. how you define intensity

Effort is always the same. You should always be moving with full intent. Intensity Is just load/proximity failure. They aren't the same thing. You can still move an RPE 6 with full intent.

After I transitioned from 10-12 sets on squats per week to 6, my strength skyrocketed. I made sure all 6 sets were extremely high effort and then I increased my volume and effort on accessories, instead of just more squats like I previously did

I mean this makes sense. Less is more when you are not able or won't train at a consistent level every time.

I tore my pec upping my volume on bench to 4x a week, I was only benching 80kg for volume at the time so I fully agree. Throwing in excess volume to break hurdles often hinders rather than helps

Wait, so you tored your pecs benching 80 for reps, what's your top 1rm. This is interesting because i am benching everyday, lol
