Great topic, I'm glad you did this video. Home invasions have been on the rise and in the news in Southern California.

Unfortunately that is very true. After 28 years in California we finally left last year because it was just getting too dangerous when caring for a 93 year old. I miss the beaches and many of the places we went to while we lived there, but I am glad that where we live now, things are much safer now.

Where we live we've added floodlights in the backyard so it lights things up brightly. We have 8 foot cement walls all along the backyard so they have to enter through a gate and if they're coming in, motion detectors will turn the lights on. Anyone coming into our yard that way means they don't have good intentions so they're fair game for the HDX. The front yard is much smaller so its easy to see anyone coming to our front door as we have motion lights that turn on at night as well as a iron security door that is locked so they can't get to the front door without us unlocking the security door first. We learned to set this stuff up because of a break in we had when we lived in California. We weren't home at the time thank goodness, but it was a wake up call to us at that time that it was time to leave California.

Do you have any issues with motion detectors? I did the same with a roof mounted flood light but glancing car lights will trigger it. Our cul de sac doesn't have through traffic but even then it goes on/off too much when triggered by neighbors cars at night. Otherwise it's a really good deterrent.

@@ScaredyCatTactical For the backyard we don't, and in the front we live on a pretty quiet street so not a lot of cars come by and they don't usually set off the sensors too often. Windstorms are our bane mostly as they like setting off the sensors LoL.

@@Joreel Preparedness is a lot of work. Yesterday a lighting strike nearby set off the glass break detector and the home security alarm. Always false alarms to clean up too. But it's necessary to put in the effort.

YT must be doing it across the board. I've made a few comments on other's videos in the past 2 days and they disappeared immediately. It has happened in the past but seems to be more prevalent recently. I always give the channel owner the benefit of the doubt. My comments were also very benign. Thanks for trying again.
