Paul D'Amour also had another project called Feersum Endjinn, which Danny Carey played on a song called "The Fourth"... they've always remained friends since Paul departed Tool. Currently, Paul is the fulltime bass player for Ministry.

Totally pumped to see you react to Lesser Key. Paul D'Amour was a big musical influence for me in my teenage years, his bass tone and playing on Tool's Undertow was the trigger for me switching from guitar to bass. Still one of my favorite bass tones ever recorded. He also released music in the bands Lusk and Feersum Endjinn (their track "The Fourth" you might want to check out).

Paul has said he could not wait 5,8,13 years between albums to be creative. He very much knows who he is and what he wants. Financial success and popularity are never a true artists motivation. (Besides, Opiate and Undertow have done pretty well, lol, not to mention he wrote half of Aenima, so I'm sure he ain't broke.)

Got squeeze my continued request in their for a “Circa Survive” breakdown. For their punchier stuff try “Sharp Practice” and for a more chill track try “the Amulet” it has some trippy aspects to it you’d probably greatly appreciate

I support this request. I can't say what song I would recommend, just that I wouldn't recommend anything from Blue Sky Noise. It's fine, has some great moments. I even have it on vinyl. I just feel like literally any of their other songs would be a better representation of the band. Sharp Practice or The Amulet would be great, I agree

@@sentientcardboarddumpster7900 couldn’t agree more. It’s the one album that doesn’t blow me away. Even their earlier stuff is better, which I don’t listen to much anymore because it can be a bit too heavy (in feeling not in sound) at times. But Juturna is still such a good album. And On letting go is a masterpiece. Blue sky noise felt a bit too transitional to me. Like they were experimenting with where to take their sound. Some is good but it a lot is meh

Heard a track from them way back when they first started but never heard any more until now. Looked up the band and found out the first Tool bassist played on this album. Must be why it was recommended to you. They kinda have a spacey vibe to them, I wonder if you'd like some of the material off of Cave In's album Antenna. I would try Seafrost or Stained Silver.
