Probably due to mutual respect. However, the geniuses of our generation all seem to be very condescending to those they believe are beneath them or those that who ask questions that the geniuses deem juvenile and/or simplistic.

MJK's businessman persona is one smart dude. When it's time to get serious get in the truck sit at a parking lot with one song on loop with a pad and pen. He's not just a rockstar he's an intellectual and I never realized that until now 25 plus years later. He's so underrated as a musical genius with such an incredible voice. With Maynard interviews-there is always a HUGE difference in one's where he is speaking with a friend and one where he is speaking with a typical reporter/journalist. Friends know his personality and roll with it and he them, with journalists, they take his dryness and it's interpreted as just ...... and he just hates talking with journalists, unless it's regarding his winemaking.

Amazing at how profound, and how blatantly obvious the enormous impact of having an actual artist (Lars) interviewing another artist (Maynard), and the difference it makes towards the overall success of content, compared to the typical radio dj, podcast host, or average fan that's usually conducting the interview. Maynard's whole demeanor, and his responses are completely different. It's like he's more comfortable responding to someone he most certainly considers a contemporary in the industry. Great job Lars. Much respect.

This is the best Maynard interview, well done Lars. Lars is a better interviewer than I initially expected, he knows how to ask good questions and just back off to allow the artist to answer. A+ all around, thank you.

I love how Maynard states the word “relevant “three times around the 12:23 mark. Since I started listening to fear inoc..three weeks ago and especially the song “invincible” this part of the interview adds more meaning to this song for me.

8:22 Maynard is probably the only vocalist I've heard mention he let's the music tell him what to do. It makes so much sense why everything he does couldn't be done by anyone else. When I did songwriting I struggled so hard to make songs work. Because I would force a topic or emotion on a song that was telling me to do something else. I love it.
