Nice bird and beautifully shot! Would you know how common they are? When talking of Indian woodpeckers, it's usually the Flamebacks that are most commonly seen. To date, the only other Woodpecker species that I have spotted is the Rufous, and that too only once. 🥴

Except for Lesser flame back, no woodpeckers are common in urban areas. But once you enter the forest area you should be able to see Greater flameback, Brown-capped pygmy woodpecker , streak throated woodpecker , Lesser yellownape etc..Also common flameback in good forest areas...Just flamebacks are vociferous, so usually we hear and see them easily 🙂
