"Pepperoni" ??? The American company who made that sausage doesn't even know Italian grammar! "Peperoni" is in the PLURAL number; the singular is PEPERONE - and Italy doesn't even HAVE a sausage called PEPERONE, let alone PEPPERONI! The American company didn't even spell that word right! The correct Italian spelling is PEPERONE, and it means a bell pepper, rather than a kind of sausage!
