Thank you for continuing to study with us, Sergei. 😃 There are some good grammar books out there. The series that I contributed to (Next Generation Grammar) is for institutions, but there are some series with answer keys, so they can be used for self-study. I like the 3-book series by Azar-Hagen. You don't need to start with the lowest level. You're beyond that. Just be sure to get a copy with the answer key.

Hi! I'm very glad you're practicing with us. My suggestions: 1) Algeria is a very beautiful and big country, but there are no jobs here because there are a many corrupt rulers. 2) Algerians, on the one hand, are known for their pride, dignity, generosity, and kindness. On the other hand, they get angry quickly and speak somewhat loudly. 3) Yes of course, because healthy food gives me energy and keeps me (strong/healthy/in good shape).

@Englishwithjennifer
@Englishwithjennifer 3 жыл бұрын
Context can change the meaning of many statements. "I'm happy to talk to you" could mean that I'll have time in the future to talk with you, but not now. It's like, "I'd be happy to talk to you, but I'm not able to right now." Or "I'm happy to talk to you, but I may not have the answers you're looking for." The second and third examples are correctly understood.

We started in the spring of 2019. We stopped filming in early 2020. The recordings of us three together are already old -- about a year old. I do my solo explanations on camera week by week. The ladies and I studied together for a little under a year. We tried to meet once a week, but sometimes we missed a week or two. COVID-19 ended our lessons by February or March. :(

You're right that the correct adverb is "healthily," but in daily conversation we use "healthy" as the adverb. www.learnersdictionary.com/definition/healthy Many online articles use this familiar wording: health.gov/myhealthfinder/topics/health-conditions/diabetes/eat-healthy

Thank you for the feedback, Marian. The series is a journey, and I don't edit out all the false starts, mistakes, and pauses. This is an unscripted learning experience. These ladies started as high beginners (A2), and they're progressing towards low intermediate (B1). Most of my private students are high intermediate and advanced (B2-C2), so they're quite fluent. The lessons with Flavia and Andreia model the process of attaining enough proficiency to participate in basic conversation. I created two series on KZbin to target the lower levels because I feel it's a neglected area among ESL instructional videos. Please enjoy my other playlists for upper level students. www.englishwithjennifer.com/students/yt-videos/ I also have short clips on Instagram for intermediate and advanced students. instagram.com/englishwithjenniferlebedev
