Hands lifted with open palms is a sign of surrender to God. Hands straight up is a sign of dependence on God. Lift those hands Saints of the Most High God!!!

When the Bible says to come into the sanctuary and lift up Holy hands, we should do just that, and not go into our closets. Scott's comment was insightful I felt. As Adventist, we were taught to come into God's house and sit there stone-faced. If a person even said Amen in our Church's that was frowned upon. God inhabits the Praises of His people, so if someone is offended by our Praise, Please,don't take it to the Closet. It has been there too long.🙌🏽 🙌🏽

Thank you HSS ! We have indeed been very blessed in these past years ,regarding the various topics of the quartelies! So important ,and there are so many insights from them all ! I love the interaction here,I always enjoy listening to you all every week,it is always such a blessing and I can agree with the various answers that are given . In this lesson, true,body language is also very important..every time I "have to" sing (I love singing praises ...I remember years back ,I was coming back home ,walking in the streets and singing "Kumbayah in English ...someone heard me and went on singing it with me ! I had never seen him) made me so happy 😊. . Or hear brothers/sisters singing for old age people etc ,I remind them to SMILE,as the message we are transmitting is of Love,Hope,Life!..really amazing ...and to be thankful for . This evening at Vespers we also had a beautiful and powerful message given to us at Remnant SDA /Maryland (for me on YT) by John Samuel, on "Israel in Bible Prophecy".. awesome ..PTL 🎶 🎶☝ 🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏 God bless you all and have a wonderful Sabbath rich of God's special blessings ! I am listening from Ghana this was a very interesting lesson more particularly in the adventism you put it so so well how orderly it is to worship God and how cautiously we should conduct ourselves before God on our diversity. The most important lesson l learnt was to just come to God as we are and have the assurance that God and the Holy Spirit will give us guidance.

If we worship God in spirit and in truth we wont have time to think what others are thinking when we praise God..Some of us are going through a lot and get breakthroughs and we can't go church and praise God how we want to because we may "disturb' the church. That's a form of quenching the spirit..when everyone is just silent in church no matter what's happening its like the Holy spirit is not there,sometimes not even an amen.
@HopeSabbathSchool
@HopeSabbathSchool Ай бұрын
I like what you said about when we're worshiping God, we won't even know what others are thinking. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in what others are thinking we become embarrassed or self conscience. When we let all that go, and truly make our only focus on God, it's a total mind shift.

David was wholly worshiping GOD in his spirit. Micah his wife saw it as embarrassing. When you're in the spirit you're not aware of your surroundings because you're in that space just you and God. The people around you see differently, and as a distraction because they are not experiencing what you're experiencing. I think that's where the criticism comes in. Let's just worship and forget who is next to you because you don't know my experience in that moment. PRAISE BE TO GOD OUR FATHER AND CREATOR OF ALL THINGS ✝️ ✝️ ❤

Thank you hope sabbath school members for making this topic clear how we worship God that is acceptable to God. There are churches that praise God using heavy stuff instruments that use in rock and roll music, is this right? Muslim worshiip by putting their faces down to the mat and whether this is the right way of worship. As Adventist can we sing praise to God lifting our hands up because some say its inappropriate. This is a very important lesson that help us how to worship and praise God. I have question which I need answer. If I am sad I cry and sing to God as tears fell fron my eyes it makes me feel good but I don't know whether I am doing the right thing. Thank you for continue expounding God's Word in very clear way. Sometimes I have questions that you answered as I listen to your program every Sabbath. Thank you and may God bless you as you bless others with your wonderful program of Hope Sabbath School.

How to praise God all day. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing, to me this means to always be in an attitude of prayer. We are in a humble, reverent attitude in prayer in the presence of God, so if we do not cease to be in this attitude, praising God all day will be automatic regardless of what we are doing 🙏 Ps hope sabbath school is my favorite, it is such a blessing, I pray you guys never stop until Jesus comes.

Lifting up HOLY hands.How many of us qualify to do that? It's quite easy to lift up hands.The rub here is lifting up holy hands. The act of holding up the hands is one of surrender of all that we are, all that we have and all that we need to be to our Creator and recreator/Saviour. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can be entirely and completely pure, clean, holy, undefiled in our humanity as was Jesus when He walked this earth. Maybe, not in the past but in the present and certainly in the future. As Daniel and his companions purposed in their hearts not to dishonor God in their actions and lifestyle, so should each follower of God. By constant, active communication with the Holy Spirit and in surrendercto Him, this is possible. We too often try do righteous acts without being righteous; to live holy lives without being holy.

How can someone judge someone’s heart? No one knows my story or my pain, or what God has brought me through. If I lift my hands in adoration only God knows if I am doing it for show, or if I am doing it because I’m so grateful for what he has done for me. If we are in the service and focusing on the word and being in God’s presence we won’t have much time to know what our neighbor is doing. If David was a man after God’s own heart and he praised him in the sanctuary as is mention in Psalms 150, why is worshipping God in the way not appropriate. I’m genuinely confused. Please explain Thank You

Hi @DawnMoore-xb1ns, Thank you for this comment. Psalms 150 is excellent verse, and so relevant for this topic. I think HSS agrees with you on your thoughts, and I'm sorry if it didn't come across that way. When one is genuinely worshiping for the right reasons, I think however they feel impressed to worship is ok. Sometimes it can feel so overwhelming what God has done in our lives, we can to make gestures - You are right. No one can judge that!

I think we only have to lift our hands maybe if you,re by yourself or when we praise God in songs

An oustanding characteristic of the 144,000 is that they have NO GUILE in their mouth. Why is this significant? No guile (deceipt) in the mouth says, no guile in the heart(mind) because it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.

I think lifting up of hands is inappropriate in Church worship as a group. It distracted our minds away from concentrating on God to self emotions. But lifting up of hands in worship in our own homes can be done as this wl not distract others who disagree with lifting up of hands in worship in Church. I agree with what Pui said on this.🙏✝️

Unfortunately I do not agree with you, I have been in worship settings where the majority is in adoration and in tune with the spirit. It's only distracting if the person isn't respecting the atmosphere and spirit of the service. But I can see your point of view as well when it causes a distraction.

Worship is an individual and personal matter, and who are we to tell anyone how and when to worship.

I disagree with you also...each to his own of course. But there is such joy in praising that you cannot help but be moved by the spirit. My heart gets joyful. The instruments in the psalms are not to be quiet...shout praises to HIS name❤

The praise is not necessarily of lifting up of hands like the Evengilucal do but the lifting of our hearts to God in prayer that's what is important.
