Hi I have a few Qs and looking forward for a reply. 1. Would like to know which is the charge interest and pay interest? I can see in the swap section a negative and possitve numbers. 2.When you say charge does that mean Im being paid an interest or paying? 3. Does interest means commission on whose side? Me or the liquidity provider? From 3:26 to 4:01 can anyone elaborate it for me a little more? I don't clearly understand it. Im sorry Im not really good at undertanding English finance terms or words. Im a filipino and would like to deeper understand forex. Thank you in advance for anyone who will reply and help me. They Nerfed Me This actually only applies if you are in leveraged position. Think of it like this, the first currency of the pair i.e. AUD/JPY is the base currency and the second currency of the pair is known as the quote currency. If you sell AUD/JPY (Leveraged position), you will short AUD and long JPY. You will accrue interest on JPY and be charged interest on AUD. In this scenario, AUD has a higher interest, so the net interest will be a debit. Also note that interest is calculated and charged on settled cash balances, which means that if you entered and closed your position on the same day, you will not accrue any debit interests. FYI, you can generally find an indicative rate on your broker's website, which should be +/- LIBOR, BBSW or whatever they want to use as their benchmark interest.

I have just one question.... You said that you are generally not charged (or earn) interest if you close a trade before 5pm Eastern. How can I decide if it is worth it to me to hold the trade open overnight or just close it? Basically, what im asking is.... How can I know if the interest I will earn will outweigh the swap fee that I would pay by holding the trade open?

Tyler Horton in your mt4 terminal, on the left hand side you should see a list of currency pairs called Market Watch. Right Click on the one you are or will be trading and click on ‘market specification’. There you will see another list. Look for swap long & swap short and you’ll see how much you’ll either be charged or paid.

Sorry to say Rob I didn't find this swaps video much use at all. In fact I didn't even stay with it. FYI I was surprised you used a badly performing monitor that is clearly no good for this kind of work. Your attention was distracted from the content because of it and it wasted quite a bit of time. Secondly, you seem to be explaining a topic , which you clearly didn't fully understand and couldn't provide the history for. Swaps and rollovers are important concepts in FX trading and need to be fully understood if one is to take them in to account in their trading activity. After all they could be an additional cost one has to factor in. Positive swaps are paid interest and no body will be troubled by those. Good luck Rob.
