That I think is called the the country 3rd position or the country roll with the right hand. Bruce Hornsby is big on that style as well. Excellent playing. Enjoy your videos.

Enjoyed this vid, best thing was seeing a mysterious red-slippered foot appear below the keyboard at 1.00 ... lovely elegant foot you have there Brendan.

Brendan can play anything, Loving the Nashville country piano of Floyd Cramer that riff was his signature soundAll over nashville country records of the 1960s you'll find Floyd as a session player. Try Last Date or on the rebound two perfect examples of Floyd's solo work find a copy of Floyd Cramers greatest hits. Check out the credits on 60s nashville produced country records if you hear that style it's odds on that it's Floyd Cranmer.

Love the progression at 1.12-1.20. Pity it's not in the transcription in Vol.1. Another 100 times watching it maybe I'll work it out!

I don’t need just the music sheets but demo would be more beneficial. What would I purchase?

Wow thanks so much. Where can I pick up volume 1? I'm an actor who often gets cast in piano playing roles and I need to bone up on various styles. I have an audition coming up for Pump Boys and Dinettes and have to prepare a 16 bar country rock/bluegrass solo. They've sent me a leadsheet and I'm completely at a loss!

Hi Jonas. Volume one is on Amazon - Kindle only, I'm afraid. Are you based in the UK or the US? Best of luck for your audition. If in London, you could always try a lesson avec moi. BK

Hey Dr. K I understand look and learn but I can't really see what you're playing when you solo for the last part of this video. Is it possible to get a video of your fingers on this and slowed down? I think transcription would help me as a basis and then once I had that down I'd feel emboldened to riff. What do you think?

I will put transcriptions in volume 2 of "Badass Boogie Woogie Secrets of the Pros" to be published soon. BK

The instructor...knows his stuff, but all I hear when you talk about country style piano is blues, gospel...White ppl have claimed country, then why does it sound so Black?
