I'm bummed I showed up late to your videos. I'm picking up the steel again after 4 years and this is super helpful. I'm a big fan of the videos so far and hope you end up doing some more

This is a great find.! I just inherited my father's 12 string emmons.! I haven't seen the case/guitar open in 23 years.! My 17 year old daughter and myself are attempting to conquer this thing.! I've sub'd to your channel, but if you don't have any more "beginner" type videos we atleast have this to run with.. Thank you for putting this out there.!

Great video. I am only two months in but the licks at the end were super helpful for me. I would love to see more content like that for runs and/or licks to fill in at the end of phases or for soloing. The exercises were great too. Keep em coming.

Keep at it Jacob!! I started less than a year ago and a bad habit I started was to play bare fingers on my right hand.....BAD habit probably. Get used to wearing your picks bruh!!
@jacobhamm_co3 жыл бұрын
@@kevinraabe457 I already played banjo so the picks are natural at this point. But thanks! I love it

@@kevinraabe457 thanks for this. I’m about a month in and prefer not wearing picks but I know it’s imperative. Cheers.

This was a great lesson to show me some pattern for the root chord. I assume we can use the same pattern when playing the 4 chord and 5 chord by starting on the root of the chord. is that correct

Would love to buy a pedal steel and learn it. I'm a fairly decent guitar player so could adapt some knowledge into learning this beautiful instrument..... Really enjoyed your lesson, thoroughly explained. Good luck with your channel. Best wishes from central Scotland.......

If you're thinking of getting into Pedal Steel and live in Scotland, go onto the British Steelies Association site and they will be more than happy to guide you, advise you and get you started, there are quite a few players in central Scotland. I myself am in Northern Ireland and I found them a mine of information and help.

I see a '91 3 pedal, 3 lever Sho-Bud for sale for $2,000. I understand there's a lot to consider but if in good condition, does that sound reasonable? Right now I monkey around with an old Fender Champ lap steel.
