This has so many great tips and little things to think about! I am stating year 3 so I still have so much to learn. Thank you for the extra time and effort you put into these videos!! Something that really stuck out for me was the point you made about planning too many high-energy, teacher-led lessons and that really got me thinking… 90% of my lessons are completely teacher-led. No wonder I am always EXHAUSTED. What sort of activities/assignments are you including in your lessons that allow you to step back a little more? I know centers can do this but planning and creating materials for centers can be a lot of work and it is something that I haven’t been able to carve out time for yet. What other ideas do you have for including more student-led activities? Maybe this could be a whole other video 😂

I'm in my second year as an elementary music teacher and have been having a lot of doubts about whether it's right for me. This gives me hope that with time, tools and intentionality, things can get better.

I just found your channel, and this video really spoke to me! I’ve been teaching for 23 years, and this year the planning has been exhausting! Next year, I am seriously looking at banding together a couple of grade levels. I think that’s going to help a lot! Great idea!!
