Damn...what a voice on that woman. The look like she was in the middle of a grocery run but sat down with a casual greatness is what's so charming here.

I thought you might do this one, and I was right. I’ve played my own vamp of the chorus, incorrectly, for years. Now I know! Emily sings so well. Happy Thanksgiving Dave from snowy Colorado

Thanks. I learned "Precious and Few" from your channel so was glad when I saw you had a lesson for this song. Question ... why did you put the capo on? You barred every chord and the 11 chord ... while it's helped by an open ringing capo'd string can be played without and provide pretty much the same harmonic palette ... I hate capos ... one more thing to carry around ... often have to re-tune the instrument before and after use.

Wait. Why not say the actual chord you are playing?
@DavesGuitarChannel2 жыл бұрын
Because when I teach, I am showing you the voicings I want you to play in relation to the capo. If you don't know that a Cmaj9 played with a 3rd fret capo is an Ebmaj9, well then that is work you need to do on your own time. I teach alot of theory like that in my Chord Therapy live streams. I am more concerned with you getting the voicing I am showing you. As far as I am concerned, it would be easier for me to just call out the numbers and you apply whatever key you want to play it in, however, again, for reasons of getting the proper voicing, I tell you the chord in relation to the capo.

Ok i fingered it out. But i am thinking chord substitutions and other chord forms but this forced me to write it all out with correct chords and i think i learned much faster. Such a great song. You are one of the few with a lesson for it. So presented as a puzzle i definitely had to work harder haha. I understand the capo idea but i expect that with folk music. Thanks
