The song is a bitch to play on this acoustic. I need to do a set up and bring the action down but you get the gist of it. Have fun.

Back when that song came out we had everything from a jazz ballad like this to folk music and rock on the same radio station. We somehow lost that diversity over the air waves.

Very well done. From what I've seen and heard, the third chord in the intro after the F#m9 is something like a G#m7 then in the 4th bar it goes to the C#m9 (beat 1), then F#m7 (beat 3) and lastly B or some form of B perhaps sus2 or add9 but it's only one beat. You are correct that it's more like a C6/E in the verses. Guitarists should know that in a band situation, they shouldn't muddy up the voicing when a bassist is playing the root and should stick to the upper harmonies (ie don't play the low A when the chord is listed as Am/E). I realize your lesson is aimed at solo guitar so I'll say I really enjoyed your lesson. Thank you!
@DavesGuitarChannel3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the C#11 chord is basically a like a G#m7(11) which I think might be the actual chord when you include the bass, but I couldn't hear the bass much on my computer when I was learning the song. Thanks for the kind words and the comments. I appreciate that. Nice to see people who pay attention.

Love your lessons, but a lot of us are beginners, would be nice if you call your fingering when you pull off or pick off on some of strings and chords. Thank you.

Hello. Well done with your tutorial on this song . Towards the very beginning . Can you tell me or us on how you play the "F#m9" very interesting on your Technique style on this chord. I appreciate your time.
@DavesGuitarChannel3 жыл бұрын
Sure, I am barring the 9th fret from the 5th string down and I have my ring finger on the 11th fret of the 4th string. I am walking up the B string with 9, 10, 12. This is the melody which has the 9, which is the 9th fret of the B, and the minor which is the 10th fret of the B, followed by the 11 which is the 12th fret of the B. If you just played the chord it would technically be an F#7sus2 but the minor is also implied.
