Breaks my heart every time I hear it. My boyfriend at the time used to sing this to me. I loved him beyond life. A year later he left me for A man. Said he still loved me, can’t have both. I have gone through 2 marriages since. Loved my late husband so much. I held a torch for my first love..but when we connected on the internet years later...he had married his husband and I realised I grieved for someone I knew years ago. Without Russell and his falsetto there would be no Stylistics. Thom Bell and Linda Creed wanted Russell...and only Russell. They didnt like the sound of the other 4. They wrote songs ONLY FOR RUSSELL. His first 3 albums they didnt sing one note. On his 12 straight top hits they didnt sing a note. Except Russ asked Bell & Creed to write a song Airion would have a part to sing . They wrote "You are Everything" and. " You Make Me Feel Brand New". Russell recorded over 300 songs during the 30 years. He was happier the day he left than he had been in decades and felt a huge weight was off his shoulders. He is doing good. Eban left the other 2 guys also. As did Bo Henderson, and another older guy ( didnt last long when people booed & walked out of concert.....now they have Mike Muse. Always hiring someone young to try to imitate Russell.....that's all they do is cover Russell's hits. Russell was the Stylistics. He"s the real deal! Even Thom Bell said Russell was the Stylistics. 🎶❣🎶
