I realized in my early twenties one of the keys to growing was humility with a dash of ignorance. Humility, to ask people more successful than me advice. Ignorance, to reject what I thought I knew, to learn something new. I still approach situations like this today and it hasn’t let me down

Those with the most knowledge are typically the most humble about how much they still have to learn because they pursue learning methodically. Gaining skill and education consistently humbles with tough lessons. At the top of any field are people that are so incredibly talented in raw ability (generational talents) but also open minded about being lifetime students and capable of learning from anyone.

Haha! I observed the exact same phenomenon many times. Especially successful entrepreneurs have this issue of overestimating their investment skills as they think they are very good at business judgment and have strong intuition, which helped them a lot. In fact, entrepreneurship and investment management are completely different skilks; and the latter is an extremely quantitative field.

8:53 WOW I can relate to this 1000% rzn I choose my 20’ Si coupe over a b58 340i 2 years ago. I knew I wanted to have humility to actually learn to drive ; driving a manual FWD car that isnt the most powerful teaches you how to be smooth ; nd how to actually learn you car and feel the weight distribution. You speaking facts ! 💯

Ahh, Kauai! I grew up there. Hopefully you got a chance to do some hiking around Waimea canyon and Koke'e and had a little fun on the way up and down.

Don't understand why people think that they can study the finance for a few months and become experts. Finance may not be rocket science, but its up there among the most challenging professions on the planet. In fact a lot of people who study engineering, physics and other challenging subjects end up in finance. It takes year of practice, not just theoretical knowledge, to become good at it.
