My soon to be ex-narc says he will NEVER beg me to come back after I “abandoned him” and I should be pursuing him because I’m the one that left the marriage. All the while he’s telling me that I’m the most selfish person he’s ever met, I’m a phony and a hypocrite and I never loved him. So if I’m such a “terrible person” why would he want me to pursue him?? It’s mind blowing! I’m free from the chaos of his control, manipulation, blame shifting, gaslighting! The only thing I’m pursuing is a divorce!!!!

We totally understand. Sometimes this is because the spouse is PROJECTING their thoughts about themselves (low self-esteem) onto YOU. Stay strong and advocate for yourself!

I just got on a call that was suppose to be meditation and he can communicate withme for the divorce and he started making remarks and I let it trigger me and the anger that I have been been holding in and I snapped for the first time in 20 years.

We understand. Thanks for the comment. We get triggered by a toxic partners' actions, its going to happen. It takes time and practice to keep your cool when you have dealt with so much tension in a relationship. It's a strategy for the long game of the divorce - stay calm and only ask clarifying questions or gain an understanding of the documents provided or seek out additional docs and establish a timeline for the process. Good luck.

We understand anyone can become a toxic partner. Thanks for the comment - we will discuss more in the future.

“Most narcissists are men” A very irresponsible statement, not appropriate to state as fact. It seems you’re discussing divorce with someone with a cluster b personality disorder. To that end, I would advise avoiding absolute statements such as the one above. This is also invalidating to any man going through the discussion topic.

Thanks for your reply and observation. Issues such as this affect both men and women, we agree. We are also providing information based on 20+ years of experience and participation in 100s of cases. It is important to note: the statistics show..."Approximately 0.5% of the United States population, or one 1 in 200 people, has the disorder. There are significant gender differences when it comes to the prevalence of the disorder; about 75% of people with narcissistic personality disorder are men."
