Didn't use caveat correctly here but I think intention of use is clear.

I think this set’s design reflects its flavor: scrappy underworld elements coming together to create something bigger than themselves. The sealed format was fine. There was some good tabletop play going on, but like any limited format, the bombs are impactful and often game winning. My hope is that Draft is actually quite enjoyable because of the tribal nature. Getting hooked up with a Bo Mando deck is going to be a fun rememberable experience. As for power creep, we’ll have to wait and see as the horses haven’t even left the line. SWU Set 1 has some good meta shifts between Aggro, Midrange, and Control. Boba flooded top 8 early, but that was tempered by reactive changes. As for Darksaber, it actually isn’t that crazy. It’s +4/+3 at 4 where Wing Leader is +2/+2 at 3 with a body and two different upgrades. The same tools that worked on Sabine @ 4 will work the same way. I look forward to your SWU commentary in the future and look forward to you finding fun and enjoyment with the game.

That's true. The flavor does translate to the gameplay.

Agree with a lot of this. Was not terribly excited for set 2 overall and prerelease didn't change that drastically

I think aggro could work, I won 1 event 4-0 with aggro Han yellow, and even got a turn 4 kill to avoid Rey flipping, but I did notice the general trend of grindier decks, Rey in particular, doing really well. In my other 2 events I went 3-1 and 2-1 both times losing to the Rey green that won overall. Aggro wouldn't be my choice, but I had rough card pools that forced it. That 4-0 deck had 0 rares, but I did get 2 5/6 Freighters, which is kind of a bomb for sealed. I do agree the tribal thing seems unfortunately rng rough for limited formats, like I never got upgrades, so Mando was out. SOR felt like more cards were passable on their own while SOTG feels more like interesting things to build around in constructed. Will see after doing a few drafts. My larger (now too late) concern for those prereleases was, did the boxes seem very clumpy to you or people at your store? 2 of my 3 boxes were like 90% the same cards with Snoke (seriously, I have 2 copies of almost every rare I own despite so few packs) and the person seated next to me at one of them also got a Snoke box and ran nearly the same deck. Then 2 people seated next to us played mirror Rey green decks...It could just be rng, but made it feel like there were only a couple box content sets instead of completely random packs.

@billtodd2194 turn 4 win is impressive with this card pool. I definitely see red X han being passable for aggro. His ability to dump his hand is pretty powerful and may not need more than something like a desperado freighter or patrol wing to close game with a space push, if necessary. It did seem like pools were similar. Most Rey greens had assault cruiser. Lot of wreckers with han and boba. We had an insane amount of showcases, more than 1 in equivilant of every 6 boxes. Could just be rng or could be issues with sorting and distribution.

@@GetsuPlaysCGs-zk2nl Wow, my area was the reverse. Across events in total I saw ~75 prerelease boxes + prize packs opened for only 1 showcase. That's like 1 in 23ish boxes.

@@billtodd2194 must have sent them all to red seal gaming 😄

I'm sorry, but what does "agency" mean in the context of this game?
@GetsuPlaysCGs-zk2nl2 ай бұрын
@sunwentai1 to have "control." In the context here, to be able to do what we want, reducing opponents health total, while opponent has to stop it. So our goal is to get control over the board so we can attack base while they have to attack board.
