I’m a teacher of English and I have her narrative in one of our course books . Her story is inspiring, especially for young people . Today I decided to look her up on KZbin. It’s interesting. She’s great !

This was a great watch! I didn't know much about Sophia Amoruso and NastyGal, but it was great hearing her story. There were a lot of gems.

Great interview, Erika! You (and Sophia, as you mentioned,) are “real, and genuine and authentic.” My take-home message from Sophia: Here’s to feeling “lucky to be happy with what I have right now!”

I got a lot of answers to my "where do I start?" questions and key points of resource research. It was really helpful and I want to sign up for the course that Sophia was talking about because I feel like she was so open about the reality in start up and being a business owner in general where she doesn't talk about all the fame and fortune, she talks about the REAL stuff from the ground up. The things you REALLY want and NEED to know.

It takes a lot of courage to admit on social media that her company grew too fast and too big beyond her skills. I am sure she will move on to greater things.

No it doesn't. She's trying to reinvent herself. The truth is she's not even willing to admit half of her mistakes.

Very interesting interview! Great information. You can honestly see the big picture of how NastyGal was actually the vehicle that made her the money that would allow her to pursue these other businesses. It’s amazing to hear the way that she pivoted to a completely different direction.

While this is the first I've heard of her or Nasty Gal I find it very interesting how she started with eBay. As a former eBay power seller. I would love to have a fraction of her success. I lost my source of consistent bargains and that's when it all came to an end as my success was from being the lowest cost always. I only sold buy it now items no auctions. Being the best priced allows very quick growth especially on eBay and Amazon. I believe folks with huge followers on social media have an inside edge allowing them to sell at prices frugal people would never consider.

Valuing that company at 350 and then having investors invest that much money is like getting your house valued by a real estate agent that wants the contract to sell your house and then getting investors to invest in the house at that price, it’s inflated.

I was never a fan of the term "girl boss" or the culture around it. However,I do admire Sophia for how she handled the downfall and owned up her mistakes. To me that does not make her a failure because she is still trying and hopefully she will be successful in her future ventures.

I never watch any Netflix series, but I watched this one because it was about a woman entrepreneur. Had never even heard of nasty gal. My sister who is into vintage knew of her. But I wasn’t into vintage.

lol did she lowkey shade Marie Forleo? Anywho, I really appreciate Erika asking what happened w/ Nasty Gal. No matter what I've read, I never had clarity about that. This was really good and honest from someone whose actually been in the trenches.
