I have a perfect exercise that helped me a lot! Basically, you do like this: Do-Mi-Fa-Sol-La and then you come back Sol-Fa-Mi-Re and doing that from the start to the end of the keyboard. First practice with the right hand, then the left and then both. When you learned it try to do it backwards: La-Fa-Mi-Re-Do and you come back: Re-Mi-Fa-Sol. I don't know if you got it, search for Hanon Exercise and you'll find it!

Work on the first measure first, starting with the first two keys that appear. Also, don't go past the notes if you can't do it smoothely, meaning don't pass go until you fix the glitch. Another thing that I find helpful is to pay some attention to how notes from different hands sync together. Within each line, there tend to be a few pairs of notes that should be played at the same time. {Using those pairs as pivots to sync two hands together} makes me confidently confirms I'm indeed syncing two hands correctly. I don't even spend much effort in reading this pair-syncing before playing. Once you play the line correctly a few times very slowly, you probably can get a feeling of those syncing pairs. Just look to sync those pairs when playing in the future.

here's several ideas for how to learn piano Try practicing about 1 hour each day, or 1/2 an hour if you are very busy. Do extra practice whenever you can. For example, on weekends you can do more than an hour, maybe 2 or 3, or even more. This is useful because it pulls you out of the routine of piano playing, and lets you practice more and perfects the pieces you play. (I learned about these and more on Denelle Piano Lesson site )
@frankfossi6294 жыл бұрын
That was a very interesting article, here are a few more tips on how to play the piano… Try practicing about an hour each day, or just 30 minutes if you are very busy. Do more practice whenever you have more time. For example, on weekends you can do more than 1 hour, like 2 or 3, or even more. This is very helpful because it pulls you out of the routine of piano playing, and lets you practice more and perfect the pieces you play. Listen to the song or piano piece you are playing. For example, if you are taking piano lessons and are about to play a new piece, you can try searching on the internet for videos or songs and hear how it sounds. This can be very helpful because it teaches you how a song is played and lets you recognize the 'emotion,' the piece is giving off. Try not to look at the dynamics in a piece, as rules you cannot break. For example, if the piece starts with an 'mp' (mezzo-piano) it only means 'moderately soft' these dynamics don't have specific volume levels. If you are practicing, you don't need to play accordingly and then have a difficulty hearing yourself, you should only play as it tells you when you are actually trying to play it properly. (I learned about these and more from Denelle Piano Lesson site )

Slowing down, great advice. I keep reminding myself when ever I hit a rough spot. Slow down- break into small sections etc.....Good tools to rememeber
@LessonsOnTheWeb8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I think the number one mistake people make is forgetting to slow it down. Sounds simple, but it is definitely key to getting better at piano.

hanks for a very interesting article, here are a few more tips on how to play the piano… Try practicing about 1 hour a day, or just 30 minutes if you short of time. Do extra practice whenever you have more time. For example, on weekends you can do more than 1 hour, like 2 or three, or even more. Practice sight-reading and don't worry about making mistakes. This can be very helpful, because it's almost like scanning a paragraph and looking at the picture. It helps you to understand what the passage is trying to convey before you actually read it and lets you know what comes next. This is the same with music, and it can help you stop making mistakes. (I read about these and more on Denelle piano lesson website )

I mean it’s impossible to play with both hands desync! Like, I’m currently learning an easy song. I practiced a lot my left hand, I know it by heart, and same for my right hand. I know everything by heart! But when I have to use both hands at the same time, I just can’t! As if I didn’t remember anything like, can’t play with them together, it’s making me go crazy because I’m practicing a lot and I can’t play with two hands! What’s wrong with me?
