Marcel, thank you for such a great posting. A whole lot of new phrases that would also slot in other tunes and make them sound soo much more professional. Tony

It would be really really awesome for you to do a transcription of Tony’s opening break to his version of “girl from the north country.” So many great licks in there.

Have you ever heard Lonesome Reuben of the Guitar Album? My favorite Tony Rice lick ever is from 3:06 to 3:20. Sounds like a D major with a sus 4... Then after the lick he goes into some straight minor blues.

Hello there! Can you possibly tab out Tony Rice’s Blue Railroad Train? It’s my dads favorite Tony rice song and I want to learn the break for him.

It was about 6 or 7 years ago when I first discovered Tony Rice. I remember thinking, 'Man, all I want to do is be able to play like him.' Back in the day, it was hard to find much about him, but I'm so grateful for the wealth of content available now. Little did I know how challenging it would be. The first clip I ever saw of Tony was his (Live) Freeborn Man at Merle Fest 1992 (the year I was born). His second break in that song completely shattered my idea of what music could be; he took it to another level. I'm not sure if you've ever done a breakdown of that, but it's a doozy.

the g part you play isn't the same as the one on the tab. you descend from c on the a string down to a on the tab. but listening to it and watching you, you do C,D,C,D not C,D,A,D. just figured i'd comment in case anyone else was confused on what sounded different

Hey Marcel, What strings do you use on that Martin?
