As a Russian i can explain what is going on here: game mode is a collaboration with game "Русы против Ящеров" (Rus vs Lizards). Which is maded only for memes and it became very popular in CIS community.

Possibly these maps and modes were created in-house a while ago and Lesta may have the freedom now to release them? I used to play a couple of games that were constantly worked on, but virtually nothing was released while it was being played in the 1990's. After the main company released the rights to another, a bunch of "untested" maps became active and accessible. There are sometimes a few passionate people behind the scenes making additional content that few ever see.

I just wanted to explain that. To be fair, lesta is russian server with russian developers developing for russian audience, so all of the involved are more likely to know these memes and to have fun with it. More western audiences might not have the same fun because they're unaware of the memes in the russian infosphere.

Also if you look at the enemy ship's names, you'll see things that roughly translate to english like "snakebite", "basiliskleg", "spiketooth", "dragonfang" and other which is another thing reenforcing the meme side of the event.

Looks like Lesta's version of the game is at least making new PVE modes. Its what WG version needs BADLY. Its actually infuriating to see after 8 years since I last played that all they've done to WOWS is add 40,000 new ships and removed half of them from sale. I played WG WOWS for the last 3-4 months and simply got bored of what they have for PVE. Operations are the same, boring and the players are shit. I also find all the operation missions just annoying as fuck. Coops are just boring as hell, where its all about DD and Cruiser DPM......At least Lesta looks like they are adding Assym back.... Lesta is making a game, Wargaming is making a casino........

this wont be available on EU and US cuz this is a purely pro-Russian update. The theme is old-Rus VS space reptilians with those relics and pyram ids, the soundtrack is old-russian with Russian phonk that yells "goyda" which is purely Russian-Z propaganda slogan. Looks fun though.
